Hello there
Last week i bought a pair of HDJ2000 headphones on marktplaats.nl, the Dutch equivalent of Ebay. The seller told me he bought things at a low price from a shop which has been bankrupted. He also had other things for sale. His Dutch was good (most thugs can't make proper sentences) and i believed his story. So i bought the headphones for €130, while the original value in an official shop is €250.
Today it arrived. Everything looked good. Untill i wanted to plug in the cable into the headphone. It didn't go smooth. Actually, i had to press very, very hard to get the cable inside the HDJ2000. When i turned on some music the sound was quite bad. No bass, echo, a bit 'blurry' sound, like music is playing 'underwater' if you know what i mean.
I was quite shocked, i thought my HDJ2000 was broken or something. I started a thread on a Dutch dj-forum. The first user who reacted said he has had something similar. He bought one on Ebay and he had the same problem with the cable. Turned out his headphone was a fake one. So i Googled for 'fake hdj2000' or something like that. I ran into the 'fake guide' here on the Pioneer forums. I didn't recognize anything in the pictures and the description. It was just the cable. The paint didn't 'bleed', the Pioneer logo on top looked good, almost everything looked good. The only other thing is that the earpads are small, but i can't judge that good on a picture. The cable also came in plastic, but that could have been done by the seller because it's 2nd hand.
Is it possible that just the cable is bad/broken/fake or is my HDJ2000 really fake?
Thanks in advance, and sorry for my bad English :)
