I am interested in buying the HDJ 2000s, but I have a feeling that Pioneer will soon be releasing a newer and better headphone since this one is almost 4 years old. Should I wait on news from Pioneer on a new release or just buy these? It would be very inconvenient if I bought these and a few months later new ones were released.

There's alway a new product in the pipe... All I can say is that I've been using my HDJ-2000 for a couple of years without any issues, they sound amazing and they are really comfy (like someone said: It's like angel bums on your ears!)
@YB > There's a reason I own two pairs of HDJ2000s - they are that good I bought two pairs. You could be waiting a few hours for an announcement of a new set of headphones or a few years - Pioneer don't comment on products in the pipeline.
They are a great set of 'phones, you won't be disappointed.
I guess they did update the HDJ 2000s, but only the color :(
Correct, colour is the only difference between the two.
