Seguir[SOLVED] HDJ-2000 White early Disappointment
Dear members,
This is my first post and I'm really upset / surprised of my purchase. I purchased the HDJ white 3 days ago from a retailer in London and I am now outside the UK. First of all i have to agree that the headphones are quite awesome and they are really really sexy. I was surprised however to find the top plastic part to be very weak and it started today to turn orange around the edges. This shouldn't be the behavior of a 240 GBP headphone at all knowing that It didn't even leave the house yet and I kept it so far in the bag it came with. I just whipped maybe twice to keep it clean...
Can someone please advise what I should do with this? and what are the expected future defects of this specific color of the headphone series ?
Thank you

Ohhh Ok that's sad...I can spray them white well only this part (the edges) The thing is, the white color is so sexy and shiny
@Ahmed > I've never heard of discolouration... Can you post a picture to the forums?
In what way did you find it to be weak?
Hi Gavin,
Please find the pics below. I meant with weak that basically its different from the plastic material on the rest of the headphones. Its a "dirt magnet" and the color as you can see on the pics below gets off easily
Thats certainly unusual. How do you store them when not in use / during transport?
Has anyone else noticed this discolouration?
Dear Gavin
Actually it didn't leave the house yet and its less than 1 week old. Moreover I found someone on Amazon with the same problem..The pic is attached below. If it will stay like that then i can live with the color change but if it will spread then that will be a massive problem.
Hi Gavin,
I just purchased mine a little over a month ago and had the same orange discoloration. I've used it twice and the its been in the pouch at home. Tried rubbing it off with my hands and it didn't come off.
Hi Kenneth...Can you attach a pic of your current status knowing that you have it already for a month. Just wanna know what will be the future look of my headphones
I ordered the white HDJ 2000 2 weeks ago, ( of course they sound GREAT!), but they are already turning 'orangy' around the edges. I'm going to return these headphones in a few days! I have my Black pair and I don't have a problem with the color!
Hmm... I got a customised white pair a few weeks ago and have noticed no discolouration yet anyway...
So any idea guys if the upper part can be coated around the orange areas? What material is it exactly? The problem is, I cant return it because I'm too far away from the shop i bought it from..
Ahmed, if they are under warranty, follow the procedure in the warranty. You should be able to get a different pair.
I have the same problem with my HDJ2000 W. The rubber on the top started to turn orange the first time I used them.
I regret that I didn't bought the black one.
Can I clean it or will it stay orange.
Will the warranty cover the fault?
Same problem here but only with the White HDJ-1500. The earpads turn orange and the edges as seen in the first picture here are colouring as well. I'll try and get a clear pic of it.
We've had white headphones at tradeshows being handled by hundreds of people over the period of a week not look that bad. Were you eating Cheetos? (Kidding!)
You can clean it, we suggest a soft cloth dampened with only water. If it is seriously discolouring, please contact Pioneer technical support for your region, links are located at the right side of this page.
