feedback loops get quieter!?!?! HELP

Hello,

I have just purchased a EFX 1000 and I have some questions about it. So when i create a feeb back loop and cut the source track. The loop get significantly quieter. I was wondering if there was a setting where it does not do that. I thought the point was to make a loop and fade out of your track without people knowing. But when it gets quieter its kind of a give away? Any suggestions?

Also i have a Allen and Heath Xone 42 and my FX sends on connected to a dry wet knob. I am having trouble balancing the i/o on the efx and the i/o on the mixer. Like i dont know if i need to just keep the dry/wet knob on my mixer in the wet position and then just set my levels accordingly, or should i keep it at 12 and set the levels, would love some advice here

before you turn the effect on, make sure your mix knob is set about 1-2 o'clock

Are you sure you've set the efx level properly so the volume doesn't drop when effects are engaged, also the depth is all the way to the right and the character it at 12

Wow dude, you obviously did not read what i am looking for. I do not need to learn how to make a feedback loop. My problem is WHEN I CUT THE ORIGINAL TRACK THE LOOP GETS REALLY QUIET. Now if you have any useful insight into this problem id appreciate, otherwise check the attitude at the door.

What mixer are you using? Try using the parameter knob on your mixer to boost the sound. On the djm 2000 when send/return is selected, the parameter know becomes the volume

I'm on a xone 42. It has a dry/wet knob for all 4 channels

@Harrison > I did read, but from what I was reading, it seemed to me that your loop was degrading rather than just quieter.

Try adjusting the input / output levels on the EFX so when you engage the WAH (as an example), there is no change in level.

No that's not it. I have the depth cranked so it doesn't degrade it literally just jumps down a few decibels. I'll upload a video so everyone can have some visual aid

That's not what I meant -- the depth (for the effect) has no difference on the input/output levels of the EFX unit itself.

Ohhh yea I've tried that as well. I'll post a video. Ill adjust the input output and so that it's around 0-6 db. But when I engage an effect the db goes to red. So I turn down the dry/wet to balance the I/o meter. But that makes the volume decrease.

I just want to make sure my effects unit isn't broken in some way.
