No, the changes can be made live. I do this all the time.

Can you audition any settings when customizing the rmx 1000
it would be nice to hear any changes you make when customizing the unit but i dont think you can do this which is a shame because any changes you make cannot be heard until you save settings and transfer accross, then you realise that some settings need to be different. especially needed when your changing roll times so you can hear which combinations work well together.
hopefully this will be looked at in future updates

thought so much , its a shame that you done even get a test tone isnt it?
you may be able to answer this too, ive not tried it yet but can you have different saves of banks of samples on the same sd card thus being able to load different soundsets in a dj set?

You misunderstand me, the changes CAN be made live. Just connect the RMX to your computer via USB, set the switch to 'User', load up RemixBox, click the Sync button (1st on the left) and change settings, the effects can be heard instantly.

Yep - with the RMX connected, click the SYNC button in the software and you can change away to your heart's content! Then once you're done and have things the way you like 'em, you can save the settings to a file as well as to the SD card.
