[SOLVED] Kick, Snare, Clap, Hi Hat skipping beat when pressed

I tap Kick or the others in sync but at one point before I finish the 4 beats on beat is thrown off  1/4 sec like it hit a delay/hickup.

Quantize is on.

Its like BOOM - - - BOOM - _ - - and doesn't sync that beat correctly, a lag....

just tried it with no music and seemed fine so when playing music it's missing the beat when I push it

If your bpm light is flashing, the quantize will not read correct or sync.

ok, I'll look next time. Is there a way to correct it if it is flashing or what does that mean?

It will always flash 120 when first started.

As it picks up the beat, the flashing will change to the active bpm.

Once it stops flashing, the sync should be spot on.

Ok. I'm not sure I understand a few things. I thought I could use the RMX on a free channel (1, 2,3 are CDJ and the RMX as a master of sorts on channel 4) so that no matter what cdj is playing the RMX would work. However not 100%.

DJM 2000 Nexus: so to use the RMX I must select the channel the music is on (Channel 3) and also select send/return. Good so far?

Then to turn the rmx on so to speak I push the on/off button on the top right next to the screen in the middle of the mixer?

Am I jacking this all up or is this the correct way to work the RMX, it works but seems like a lot of work.

Another thing, when I hit the on/off button so I can work the rmx the volume to the track playing drops.

I've looked for youtube videos... rmx manual hasn't said how to work the djm nexus to work with the rmx

@Justin If the volume drops then you need to adjust the Input Level and Output Level on top of the RMX-1000.

It has to be set up right, look at the manual below for your set up.

Typically the send/receive in/out path is used where the mixed channels then go through the rmx and back to the mains.

That send path is what the rmx is reading for bpm.

@Justin Play a track and press the effect button ON and OFF on the DJM-2000 while you're adjusting the levels on the RMX-1000 till there's no difference in volume. You've seen my videos on YouTube right? You can see when I press ON and OFF that there's no difference in volume.

@ OAK... That did it. I've watched to many videos that people tell me to keep the lights at 0 (ZERO/GREEN) and not in the amber. But maybe that was just on the mixer...???

So, with the RMX it's ok to be in the amber lights for input or is there a way to fine tune that as well?

But, on the DJM 2KNexus do I keep the M setting for the RMX or do I (Should I) select the channel that is currently playing. What is the correct way?

Thanks for that advice Oak.

I spoke to soon. I remember why it was all jacked up. Everything sounds great and all but when I hit CLAP or whatever the sound is louder than the song. However if I don't use those the sound is fine.

If I lower the output so the CLAP isn't louder than the song but I turn off the effects that's where I had the sound louder or not as loud issue.

For the X-Pad effects you'll need to adjust the X-Pad Level at the bottom left corner, experiment with different settings. Mine is set to 8 o'clock

Ok, I'm at an issue. I setup audacity and noticed I had the setting wrong after watching Pulse's video. Actually I had it right but I reset to factory settings and forgot to change 5dm thing.

Anyways. WHen I'm back to hitting ON/OFF for RMX the sound is lower. I understand adjusting INPUT and OUTPUT and that works however for some reason the lights (Green/amber) go 3 or so into the amber just to get the sound balanced. when hitting ON/OFF. When I use the RMX like this, you can imagine how LOUD it gets!

The RMX INPUT is around 1pm ish and OUTPUT is 2 ish.

Even with the rmx lights amber it still is a tad quiter than the djm when hitting ON/OFF. SO I understand adjusting INPUT/OUTPUT but it's much higher for some reason just to sound the same as the DJM.

Bugging the shit out of me. The darn thing started acting weird with the sound. When I hit the on and off button the speaker would crackle ERRR!

Then I noticed all I had to do was tap the INPUT level on the rmx and it would adjust the sound level... That gave me the idea to check connections, one of my cables was loose. I wish Pioneer would release quality TRS cables like they have with other cables.Monsters not bad but...

problem solved

I don't use that part of the RMX anymore, hasn't been great...  It is cool but not worth the chance of screwing up a mix.
