I'd like to know the answer to this one too BriChi - sad that I'm considering spending another $1k just to fix this one effect. Mixing without a proper echo is obnoxious.

Seguir[CLOSED] Question about RMX-1000 "echo"
Does anyone know if the "Echo" effect is the same as the DJM-800 or is it the disastrous none usable echo on the DJM-900?
A lot of people I know HATE the djm900 echo and were debating adding a RMX to the setup, but if its the same crappy echo, then it's kinda pointless for them.
For me, I am just hoping for a FW update to the 900 that allows us to switch back to the good ECHO!

Anyone have any input on this? I'll buy an RMX tomorrow if it solves the problem. The echo on the 900 gives me heartburn.
Personally, I prefer the 900 echo to that of the 800, but that's just me.
The echo on the RMX is different as it's customizable. Give it a run and see what you think.
the 900 echo is horrible and honestly Pulse, you are the only person I know that prefers it. I work with A LOT of dj's and every time we discuss the 900 they bitch abut the echo and how they can't even use it. There is no way to make a quick clean echo on a vocal without it sounding like crap because the echo carries 4 beats behind the actual word i want to echo.
I second Bri. The echo is so heavy it's virtually impossible to manage levels when engaging it - the only prayer you've got is to cut lows before triggering it. Levels aside, trying to grab a particular phrase to echo out is an exercise in futility.
