Lion Compatibility?

Just a general enquiry as to whether or not RekordBox has been tested with Lion at all? I know it's not available to the public yet, but the Developer Preview has been out since February, and it was originally announced in October of last year, so it's not like it's new news or been sprung on anyone right at the last minute.

Sorry, OS X Lion I'm talking about here. (6:39pm local time here, been a long day at work)

hehe, I guess the other one was deleted, LOL

Just an FYI: I had a developers copy of lion and ran RB over night letting it go through tracks from the 2000's linked to it and it ran pretty well, no issues. Haven't had time to really test away on it being that I wouldnt use a beta live obviously.

Thanks for the reply mate!  It's really handy to know that it works (seriously, thank you for testing), I don't think I'll upgrade immediately though, if there is something that doesn't work that I rely on it'll take me about two days to reformat, get Snow Leopard back on and get my machine back to a useable state (I still can't believe how long it takes to install Apple Logic Studio)

no problem man, Once it's released too I will create a new partition and test a lot on Lion and post back, Hopefully it's released in July as they say and it's not pushed back at all

It *should* work, but we'll know for sure after the next Rekordbox update.

So I have been testing with the Gold Master release of Lion and so far so good, Any problems and crashing happening on Lion also happens on Leopard so Lion is not the cause, I did notice a lot of my waves are missing though in tracks so i will have to see where that problem started, maybe in the copy over of the Pioneer folder, not sure... When I boot back into Leopard I will see if the same tracks are missing the wav

Cool, Thanks for the updates BriChi! Almost tempted just to risk it when it comes out.

Pulse - You mentioned you'll know for sure after the RekordBox update, was that 1.5?

I asked - they said "We don't have a developer's license, so we'll have to wait."

I'm sure they have it now, but you guys are likely to have a quicker response ... how's it look?

I've tried it and so far I haven't had any problems whatsoever. If anything, I find that RB1.5 works better (and faster) in Lion than SL (!)

What would be nice when the devs get a license is for them to implement Lion's native fullscreen function into RB.

yes! I also tried to uninstall it with CleanMymac and reinstall the software.... There is a problem when I start the program. I can see in the left corner that the program is analyzing 63 songs. Don't know why? (All the songs are analyzed before)

I would try doing this: (as stated by Pioneer)

Rekordbox crashes on startup and you have nothing else connected to your computer

It could be that your database is corrupted or damaged and you need to try loading the backup database. Ensure Rekordbox is closed and find your database in the following location:

OSX: /Users/yourusername/Library/Pioneer/rekordbox

Rename datafile.edb to datafile.edb.old

Rename datafile.backup.edb to datafile.edb (removing .backup)

Restart Rekordbox and see if it opens. If it does, the main database was corrupted and the backup was working okay.

If it does not open, go back and rename ALL of the datafile files in that folder to .old and restart Rekordbox once more. If it does load, both the original and backup database were corrupted and you will have to re-import your songs once more.

@Vicrep - you still making out good with RB? Do you use it linked to the players live?

@BriChi - well i'm on holiday atm, so I haven't been able to try out the 'live' aspect of RB. But as far as importing managing and exporting goes, I haven't had any problems (yet)... only time will tell if RB is indeed 100% compatible with Lion.

cool, thanks for the info. I have messed with it too and it's been fine, the usual bugs in rb are the same on S.L. and Lion so it hasnt been a Lion issue. Still hesitant to use "live" though

I've been having problems with RB and OS X Lion, it seems tha RB doesn't reacogniza my iTunes Library at all, when I hit the bridge button the iTunes library that appears was the one before my OS X update. : /

yes, well I don't remember if I did the iTunes update before or after upgrading to Lion, but it was on the same day, now using rekordbox is a pain in the ass.

Any tips/help for my rekordbox to recognize the itunesmusiclibrary.lib again?

I would double check that RB is pulling from the correct iTunes library in case you 2. In iTunes you can go to orefs, advanced and look at the path it wants to save files, that's usually the same as your main library unless you change it, then in RB, Go to prefs/bridge and make sure the iTunes library points to that folder and xml file

/Macbook/Users/username/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music Library.xml

Sure thing. Close RekordBox, go to your library\music\iTunes folder. There should be a folder called previous iTunes libraries (which iTunes creates when it updates to a new version). Copy that to an external drive (just incase this makes things worse) and then delete and empty it from the trash and try again.

What OS X does is when you move or rename a file within the same drive, it leaves a pointer to that new file so other applications can still read it. Sounds to me like RB is reading your old library for some reason.

Actually. Try BriChi's suggestion first (its a bit safer)

OK I did as the first post suggested and RB went back to normal Thanks a lot, it seems that when iTunes upgraded it made a new .lib file and the itunesmusiclibrary.lib is not the one it uses

Still having problems with the RB. How can I remove the RB and start from scratch ? (import new music etc?) Want to remove all the old "shit". Even if I reinstall it tries to analyze "old" songs :(
