Now than beatport sell aiff with metadata, RB MUST read the metas in the aiff files...
Seriously....
It's been about a year and a half since Pulse said he sent this problem to the engineers.
AIFF is the only format lossless format that holds meta data that Rekordbox accepts and yet after countless updates, it is STILL not able to read metadata or album artwork. The big issue for me is that I can't reload tag to get new comment information changed/added in Itunes.
WHY?
Works perfectly in Traktor & Itunes
It's a instantly repeatable bug.
Is not a major programming request.
Other members on this forum having been bringing up the same issue over the last months.
I just bite my tongue, now rather then say what I really what to. I just say, unacceptable.

I could not have said it better myself... I wrote about it a few weeks ago.
before the tumble weed passes completely over this thread....
Is there any conformation, that this was passed on, is being addressed, head engineers being fired for incompetence?
Keep watching that tumbleweed tumble; it's partly on the MixVibes crew to get that properly implemented; I'm hoping we'll see it implemented / fixed at some point in the future... it is on the list!
I have been informed that 1.6 will include full support for AIFFs!
Very good to hear:):)
Cool.
Finally!
Only, I just hope that 1.6 is not going to be ages away, while they make other major changes. If it is then I would rather they just fix it now with a 1.5.2
In any case, thanks Pulse for chasing that up
I've been away from this forum for a while now, but this issue brought me back, and just wanted to add my voice to this.
A couple nights ago I decided since the CDJ-2000s support aiff files I would pay the ridiculous handling fees and try Beatport's new offering. I sent a complaint to Beatport and everything before I discovered that the lack of aiff support is actually Rekordbox itself. What is up with that?!? I'm glad to hear 1.6 should contain a fix but I've had these CDJs for almost 2 years now and they still can't deal with one of their advertised file formats properly? What possible excuse could there be for this? This cannot be fixed fast enough.
@Tycho > It still reads the AIFF files, but certain aspects were not handled properly (eg. artwork). It's coming with 1.6!
Any news on approximately when 1.6 will be released?
Just before we announce it.
