Suggestion: Buffering of Tracks on USB Device
Hello. I realized that RB has problems while browsing through my USB Device when I’m viewing all my tracks… When I’m on my USB device in “explorer mode” (don’t know how you guys call that), RB hangs itself for a few seconds just to preload the file list and so the browsing through the whole list takes about 10 Minutes instead of a few seconds.
Is this a known problem?
I have a USB 3.0 Device which is plugged on a 3.0 port, so I don’t think that there should be any problems with the speed.

@Steve > I'm not sure I fully understand; you're in the collection view and it's not able to smoothly display all the entries? How many songs are in your collection?
Re: deleting; if you remove it from a playlist, no, it does not remove it from the drive as the track could also exist in other playlists, so it keeps it on the device. If you remove it from the All Tracks view on the device, you can delete it from the device.
Sorry for the bad description. Yeah that's right, I'm in the collection view on my USB Device (H:\ - Selected "All Tracks") and I'm not able to scroll smoothly through it. There are about 300 Tracks in my content folder and other 400 out of the content folder which are not displayed in RB. As I said, I'm using a USB 3.0 flash drive on a 3.0 Port, so the speed shouldn't be a problem.
Okay, I understand - you're not in the collection but device view of "All Tracks". I'll see what the engineers have to say.
Sorry for the mistake, I thought you guys call the “View all Tracks” on the device “Collection view”. Yeah, I’m on my device view… It seems that RB has to buffer the tracks every time I’m going down and up in the list – RB is a lot faster when I’m clicking on a playlist, there the list is displayed in a few seconds (probably because in one playlist are only about 40-50 tracks listed)
I thought it might be my computer, but sounds like I'm not the only one to have RB hang up and lag when viewing tracks on my USB device (I only use one device with RB because it takes sooooooooooo long to transfer trax and maintain playlists). I also have over 300 tracks on my 16Gig device, but mine is 2.0. Every time I select a playlist, individual track or change views on the device panel, RB hangs up for a few or many long seconds (I imagine it does this to contemplate its own inadequacy). Funny that Mix Vibe's other software packages have won Mix Move Tech Awards, I don't think RB will be winning soon.
It's interesting.. the search function in the "All tracks view" runs smoothly. How about you Gyver?

We've got a ticket open for the engineers to investigate.
Is anyone still experiencing the same issue with their USB devices with the latest version of rekordbox?

I've bought me another USB 3.0 Device.. haven't had no problems since than, so I think the problem is the hardware of the device :-)
