Hey, Bedroom DJ's need nice kit too ;). Plus I still have my CDJ's, if for anything to keep my beatmatching sharp, and to shut up those who hate!

OK, what gives?

It's a cut-down Traktor controller for Pro 2.
There - I've nailed my colours to the mast...
I have CDj2000, CDJ400 and a DJM 800.. But I want a controller to keep on my desk in my office. I use traktor and this would be the perfect size. I was going to snag the T1 this weekend on sale and then stack a 15% off coupon. Guess I will just wait for this new controller since I only need 2 deck control and I like the smaller footprint. Wonder when this thing will actually be available.
This 'thing' will have some features you'll enjoy! ;)
I noticed a pulse mode and vinyl mode button on the new controller. Pulse mode is not a option in traktor that I know of. And Vinyl mode is only seen on the S2... So this makes me think its not a traktor controller.... hhmmm....
Maybe its an all in one? Controlls multiple different softwares? Or maybe a new rekordbox?
S2 in my post = DDJ-S1.. sorry about that
@Johnathon > That button turns you into a tall Canadian (a la Skratchworx)
I've been promised we can have a 'Gavin' mode in a future model.
HAHA... you guys are killing me. I was gonna grab a T1 this weekend. Then I saw the new NI S2. I only want 2 decks so I concidered waiting for the N2. But the layout, on the s2, with the buttons under the jogs turned me off. Then pioneer announces a 2 deck controller.. Now I cant figure out what to do. I hate to miss the new EDIT. Decisions.......
Any idea when they might announce what software(s) its for? Or do we have to wait till official release?
And yes.. A gavin mode should be added. Its only fair.
Sorry, can't say any more only that we'll have to wait to see what more Pioneer announces in the coming days.
Wow, thank you for mentioning the [EDIT] !! I just got a price match guarantee :DD. Tempted to return it.... XD
So is there some loose timetable? I would imagine not, as the suspense makes the hype greater
Guys, just a reminder - No discussing prices or retailers.
Geminimech > As I've said in my above comment, we'll see when we see. If I was to guess I would think about what DJ shows are coming up soon.
Gavin - Sorry about that. I forgot about the no retailers and prices. But there are some good deals this weekend going on.
Think I will verify the return policy for controllers and just go buy the T1 this weekend and sit on it till the last day (unopened). And return it if I need to. I really like the T1... just would prefer a smaller footprint.
LOL, gonna rumor it up here, but Pulse... did you get some sort of slip mode named after you...
I thought you called it drunken' chick mode, or something of the sort
Ooops. My 'pologies. Can't wait to see!
Is it too late for some feature suggestions?
As ever, I'd like it to come with an Automix function and a life-size cardboard cut-out of me, so I don't actually have to go to work.
@Derek > Drunken Chick Mode is also know as Slip Mode. Pulse mode is something else ;)
pppfffftttt ....................... all tho very nice this is no use to me and now i want an efx with a crossfader :)
@Cheeba. For the sake of not further bludgeoning the dead horse, I'll just say this. Sync is what you make it of. If you're using it so you can spend more time being creative then more power to you. I realize it is far easier to beatmatch and subsequently keep tracks in phase when they are beatgridded and loops are quantised, but how is a plattered controller ANY different from 2 CDJ-900's and Rekordbox then? It's just cheaper and connected to software that gives you some more features than are available otherwise. I don't EVER see anyone dropping the 'cardboard' cutout bomb on guys with CDJ/DJM 900 setups in HID mode with Traktor.... Is it because if you pay enough you get enough credit? Hope that doesn't come off as inflammatory, I just couldn't respectfully disagree any more with your premise.
I see two upfaders, a crossfader, a play/pause button, a sample bank, a hot cue bank, two platters each with pitch control ..... then I think about that little, currently non functional, mobile device button on Rekordbox and I go .. hmmmmmm
I thought 'Pio software' at first, but that layout matches Traktor's UI so well!
[EDIT]
Look 4 posts above yours Ruffrob ;)
Sorry about that, I saw it after I posted the link....
Yea.. def matches traktor a bit.. but also some things dont fit. Like the vinyl mode button. If there are 2 vinyl buttons then it wont fit traktor. Traktor only has 1 "deck mode" as a global option. There would be no use for 2 vinyl buttons. And no use for the pulse mode. So that makes me question the software use wtih traktor. Also the fact that the T1 has master and sync buttons where this controller doesnt makes me question traktor software also.
But the effects section is def traktor layout.
I am a traktor user so I hope its for atleast traktor. But it would be cool if it could work out of the box with multiple software titles.
Here's something that gives a better look without the flashing lights of the video posted above...
Nice video Rob. Answered any and all questions, including what software platform it is for. See you on the 29th!
@All > Remember, there has been no official announcement from Pioneer on this 'unit' just yet... So don't go jumping the gun just yet.
hhmm.. I noticed the use of the term "unit"... must be some underlying meaning.... Maybe it comes with VDJ but it also works with Traktor and Itch? Maybe with an overlay or something. Would be cool if it could support multiple titles.
Looks pretty nice in this video.. Where did this video come from? who else would have one to show off?
