DDJ ERGO - Headphone issues

Hi, I´ve just bought my ERGO. The controller is working properly, however the headphone is not working. I have a technics RP-DH 1200. i´ve read into manual that headphone can experience problems if USB cannot supply the energy controller needs to work, but I tried in my windows PC and also Mac. Has anyone experienced it before ? I also played with VDJ LE and Traktor.

tks

Have you configured it properly in the software and adjusted the knobs for the hardware?

I have the same problem with my DDJ-ERGO and MacBook Pro. No sound through the headphones. Firmware is updated. Is this a hardware issue?

Guys, I expected I would just install the software and Virtual DJ to use the ERGO, however Virtual DJ requires a initial setup that is not described in any ERGO manual. So I made a mistake and did not configure the audio. as a result i´ve just listened audio in the speakers. I found in the net that I would choose the 4 channels setup and WOW.. all works.

@Pulse > just got my ergo a couple of days ago. finally got my headphones to work thx to the amazing video u posted here. i only one a small problem now. all the hardware knobs are mapped with the software besides the master on top and the headphone volume. when i move the knobs on the ergo it does turn the volume up but the know won't visually turn on the virtual dj software skim.

what can i do to fix this?

thx!

I don't have mine setup right now, but I don't believe those are mapped because they're actual audio controls rather than MIDI controls...?

I am using advanced configuration to run monitor speakers out of the TRS outputs.  I still don't get any headphone cue sound.

Can someone help me solve this.

Hi.  I have the same problem as Oscar, the master volume and headphone volume knobs both work fine but the graphic on the Virtual DJ software doesn't move (it did initially, before I updated the firmware).  Not a problem really though!

Another issue I have (I think since the update) is that the gain knobs sometimes need a bit of a 'jiggle' before they will work each time.  This doesn't happen during every mix, just now and again, but can be a bit annoying!  Have there been any other reports of this kind of problem??

@Jake > Is it just that they don't move until the hardware knob position matches the screen knob position?  That's known as a software-pickup and is perfectly normal.  Same thing for the volume knobs as the gain knobs.

I had the same issue with no headphone sound and the setup video helped me fix this (sort of). Now I have a new issue, I can ONLY hear sound through the headphones now and can't get anything to play through the speakers. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Hey, I did exact the same you showed in the vid.

But I got an other problem.

I have my headphones working, but my speakers don't work.

I tried this on 2 laptops and on 1 desktop.

All of them have the same problem.

Sound through the headphones but no sound through the speakers. I only have my usb cable plugged into my pc which should be fine.

INPUTS: Microphone

OUTPUTS: HEADPHONES master CH1, 2 / Headphones CH 3, 4.

SOUND CARD: Asio driver, Pioneer DDJ ASIO.

Please help.

Hi, I'm testing traktor pro demo with ddj ergo. All ok, but effects don't work. Knobs are configured ok (moving a knob on ddj ergo moves the correct one in video) but i can't listen the effects on master output. Firmware and traktor version are upgraded. Thanks

@Pulse > Yes. Sound outputs are as in the video. I listen both master and cue but when I apply an effect (and the first knob is in the middle between dry and wet) the sound doesn' change. Thanks

@Rachel > I would try disconnecting the ERGO, launch VDJ and change the audio settings -- then quit VDJ, reconnect the ERGO and reconfigure the audio settings again (for the ERGO), see if it works.

@Daniele > When you apply the effect, have you previously moved any of the knobs during that session?  If not, you might not have "picked-up" the software position with the hardware knob and as such, the effect parameters may be too low.  The other consideration may be that you could upgrade to the newest version of Traktor (if you haven't already) and run the Setup Wizard under the help menu -- they've added the DDJ-ERGO to the list.

Hi, I think I have the same issue as Rachel I'm using virtual dj LE (7.0.5 LE) with the DDJ Ergo on a Mac. I've configured the settings in the way shown on the video and all the knobs are in the right position.

Both the master and cue audio are coming from my headphones. The cue function is working as you'd expect it to.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software which hadn't worked. Any ideas? Thanks

@Alex > Provided you have the sound configured correctly in the settings, you should have separation of the audio between the headphone and master.  See below:

Note: You could also configure the input for the Mic.

@Pulse thanks for getting back to me. At the moment I'm not using the output ports on the Ergo for my speakers. Since my speakers only have a simple headphone jack connection I have to either plug them into my laptop headphone port or the Ergo's. Could this be the reason for the issue?
