dj ergo/ virtual dj help!!!!

hi i am newish to djing and am having problems with my setup. the problems i am have are that when i am using the pioneer ddj ergo with virtual dj (latest version) i cannot get sound through my headphones. the sound goes through my system ok its just i cannot hear anything through the headphones. the equipment i have are as follows.....ddj ergo (pioneer) a compaq laptop and a sony stereo....now before i was using serato and the setup was i had my decks conected to my laptop then a rca to 3.5mm into my sound system from the master out2 holes on the ergo then the 3.5 end into the pc intput on the system as that is the only way it will go through my system (its a cheap but sweet system) and it was working fine until i tryed to use vdj7. the main issue is i cannot for the life of me figure out the config settings. i am currently getting it into my sound system but like i said no sound into my headphones so its hard to figure out crossfades n etc....someone please help me PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

UPDATE!!!! ok now i am gettin sound through my headphones but when i turn the button of which allows sound through each channel i can still hear it? wtf is happening????????????
