DDJ-T1 and Traktor 2

Hello everybody,

I plan on buying a DDJ-T1 before the end of the year as an upgrade to my Traktor S2. I have a couple questions though:

  • I already have a Traktor Pro 2 license, will the T1 work out of the box with my version of Traktor Pro or I will HAVE to use the Traktor Pioneer edition that comes with the T1?

  • I heard that there is no way of controlling sample/remix decks on the T1, so I am also planning on buying a Traktor F1. Is that a good choice or is there a better alternative?

  • Will Pioneer release another 4-channels Traktor compatible controller in the near future? If yes, should I wait for that instead?

 

I insist on using Traktor as I'm addicted to it, so Serato is not an option for me.

Yes you can use it out of the box. The Traktor edition delivered with the DDJ-T1 is a limited edition, meaning it only has limited functionality.

No it is not possible to control sample/remix decks on the T1. The F1 is a good alternative.

Pioneer does not condone 'gossip' within their forums. So no one here can give you an answer to your last question. However, it would surprise me if there is not a DDJ-TX in the making. Can't confirm it though. It comes when it comes :)

Thanks a lot for your answer. I saw the T1 for the first time in a retail store and I instantly fell in love. In other words, can't wait, gonna buy one ASAP, and if another DDJ-TX I might or might not replace it. In the meantime I want to replace my S2.
