DDJ-SX XLR Output

Anyone else having trouble with the XLR outputs being too deep for them to latch?

I tried 2 different types (Livewire and Mogami) XLRs and could not get them to latch. They just pull right out. Not a big deal at home but not comfortable at a gig where they can work themselves loose. Did I get unit that is out of spec?

Mine is very close to not latching but it does, just needed a firm push!

Hey guys, just check to see that the cable is going in straight -- I noticed on my unit that the connector would catch when removing it, so I can see how if it's not perfectly aligned it might not click the connector on insertion.

Certain XLR plugs do not latch, because the socket is not flush with the back plate of the unit and the barrel of the bug is wider that the hole punched in the back plate . The slimmer XLR's work fine.

Pioneer,  I did find my XLR outputs very tight using different cables.  As a dj since 1984, I have never ran into this issue before.  But,  I did run into a major issue at my gig Saturday:  I did not like the sound coming out of my wireless mic via the XLR connection so I tried a 1/4 phone plug and it got stuck in the connector.  I could not remove it out of the connector, I waited until I got home and had to apply force to attempt to remove it.  I managed to get it out, however the tip broke off and it's still in the unit.  With this said, I am still excited about this unit but, I hope this issue does not cost me any more money.   I bought it online at Musicians Friend.

Pioneer, please feel free to contact me.

Both of my XLR sets use Neutrik connectors and neither latch. Cable goes in straight for sure. Like GT500 mentions above, the XLR is not flush with the backplate. I am scared to force them down because 1) I don't want to stress the male connectors inside the DDJ-SX and 2) if I get them to latch it may be too hard to get them to unlock and I'd need to struggle with it each time.

Wanted to add should the XLR in the DDJSX be flush with the backplate and maybe my unit is out of spec?

@Marshall > No, they shouldn't be flush as they're not actually mounted to the back plastic piece.
