[SOLVED] TAKEOVER not work in Serato DJ

hi

a long time I have been noticing that the function TAKEOVER noa is operating correctly on Serato DJ, according to the manual of the DDJ-SX this function indicates when a deck is early or late in relation to the main DECK (deck master) description follows the manual supplied by Pioneer.

TAKEOVER indicator

When decks are switched while the sync function is off, the position

of the controller’s [

TEMPO

] slider may not match the software’s

tempo (pitch). To regain control of the tempo from the controller,

adjust using the [TAKEOVER] indicator as reference. Slowly move

the [

TEMPO

] slider in the direction in which the [TAKEOVER] indica

tor lights. When moved to the position at which the [TAKEOVER]

indicator turns off, the [

TEMPO

] slider’s position matches the soft

ware’s tempo (pitch) and the tempo can once again be controlled

with the [

TEMPO

] slider

Remembering that I'm with the latest firmware (1.07) and OS X 10.9.1 and that in any version this function worked properly, which is nescessário for it to work?

Thx.

EDIT:

Hello Pulse,

Grateful for the explanation, but I think not being logically work this way, since 90% of the mix are made in controlling cross, 1/2 3/4 1/4 2/3 and this feature would be very useful for the DJ, I do not know if the operation can be set this way by Serato or firmware update DDJ-SX.

I am having the same issue on this matter. I've contacted serato to get an understanding as to know if this is a software issue and if all decks should be compling to the tempo slider indicator lights such as 1&2 and 3&4 and not only 1&3 or 2&4. pls respond attn LM...

It works just fine...

On channel 1, load a track and make sure you're on deck 1. Move the pitch fader down about half way (so -4% if you're in the 8% range setting). Switch the deck controls to 3 and then on channel 3, load a track and move the pitch fader to the +4% position and now press the deck 1 button. You'll see the red arrow at the top (negative end) of the fader illuminate. Move the fader toward -4% and once you hit that position, the light will go out. You have successfully "taken over" the software pickup. Take the fader to the zero position. Now, press the deck 3 button and you'll see the arrow at the bottom (positive) end of the fader illuminate. Go to around the +4% mark until the light goes out and now you've "taken over" the 3rd deck software pitch with the hardware. Take it back to zero. Switch to deck 1. Note how it didn't illuminate any arrows? That's because you've got both software faders at the same position as the physical fader, meaning it has already "picked up" the software control.

This does NOT indicate that you need to move the fader up or down to match what's happening on the OTHER player (decks 2/4). It's ONLY for use on the SAME deck (1/3 and 2/4).
