Use a MIDI monitor program to check if the faders are sending signal across the whole range of motion. If you don't get satisfactory results, consider sending the unit for servicing; links are located to the right.
Basically, right around zero point (the detente) of both pitch faders, there is a few mm where adjusting the pitch faders have no effect. Only after you pass this threshold does it change the pitch. Besides this dead zone, the faders work perfectly and have really good resolution.
Before upgrading the firmware, the dead zones prevented me from adjusting anywhere from 0 to +.1% (about .13 bpm on a ~122 bpm track), making it impossible to beat match within my acceptable range using the fader. After upgrading to firmware v1.02, I gained control over the full range, meaning after i passed the dead zone it would then start adjusting to ~122.02 -> ~122.04 -> ~122.06 instead of just jumping to 122.13. But the dead zones are still there, which means that I have to watch the fader and estimate where the zones end, demanding much of my attention.
Please, can any of you tell me whether you have this problem, or more importantly if you do NOT have this problem?
