DDJ-SR HELP! Right play button not working properly.

Help!! I was playing a gig this weekend and while i was playing a song on the "right" deck, i was cueing up the next song on the "left" deck. When i pushed the Play/Pause button on the left deck, the song on the right deck paused. There was no music playing to my crowd until i pressed the Play/pause button on the right deck again.

i did notice that one of the pressure pad lights (top right pressure pad) was not on.

I rebooted my computer, unplugged everything plugged it all back in, and started Serato and still had the same problem. the only way i could get through the rest of the night was to use my mouse and press the play button within the software.

DDJ-SR using Serato DJ on a Macbook pro running Mavericks

I have been using this exact configuration for 4 months now with no issues until this weekend.

Thoughts?

I think its a hardware issue.

the controller is only 4 months old. It should be under warranty.

Please help.

Thanks

It's either one of two things ... an inadvertent MIDI mapping assignment to the play/pause of the right deck (mapped to the left play/pause button) or you've got faulty hardware. They're both easy to check. For the first, open SDJ with the SR connected and click the MIDI button. Click the PLAY icon for the right deck and verify that no controls are mapped there. You can press the DELETE key to be sure.

To check if the button itself is working, go grab MIDI Monitor (free) and check to see if the left play/pause button is sending signal - if so, what signal is received. Next, press the right play/pause button and check what signal is received.

Let me know what your findings are.

I checked the midi signal with midi monitor. the Left (Bad) Play/Pause Button came up with multiple midi messages with each button press.

The Right Play/Pause Button came up with single on and one off message. Is that a problem with the button, the firmware or something else?

Thanks

Engineers have recommended that you send the unit to Pioneer for servicing as they believe it is a hardware issue.

HI THERE, GUYS, I HAVE THIS SAME ISSUE WITH MY DDJ SR2 , I WENT THROUGH OUT ALL THE STEPS STATED ABOVE AND I DONT GET ANY MIDI READINGS FROM MY RIGHT PLAY/PAUSE BUTTON .

MY ONLY ISSUE IS I AM CURRENTLY IN GHANA, AND  THERE IS NOT A SINGLE SERVICE CENTER HERE.

PLS ADVICE ON WHAT TO DO NEXT?

@Tixard > The only solutions would be for you to repair it yourself or take it somewhere that repairs electronics and have them fix it -- chances are it's just the contact switch that isn't working.
