I use the SX every week and don't find I need to do that - it could possibly be a hardware issue, can you compare another SX when using the same sound system AND YOUR computer?
I don't know if it's ddj-sx problem or serato dj problem...i play in many bar-club with different sound systems and all the time&in every kind of music i have to cut the mid frequencies(about 50%) and give extra low frequencies(about 20%) for a good sound!!!If i don't do that the sound is full of "mid" and without bass...so i can never play "flat"(all the button in straight position)...this happens in all (4) decks...I also updated my sx hardware from 1.5 to 1.7 version, but nothing changed...I have the ddj-sx almost 1 year, the first 5 months the sound was perfect...i did a search on the net and i show some posts about "hardware reset on factory default settings"...do U think that this will help?!?Do U have any other ideas about my problem?!?

This is not possible because I am the only Dj on my island with ddjsx and serato...all the other djs use traktor...my Mac is 2012 model with i7 2,6 8gb ram,ssd 256gb for OS and 750gb hybrid ssd for music and video...it is very powerful...I mix 2 videos with effects and 2 tracks at the same time and the CPU is only on 40%!!!I use this Mac only for DJing...the sound quality is perfect when I give extra bass and cut the mid frequencies...also when I tested my Mac with serato sl3 sound card that i have the sound was perfect!!!So my Mac is working fine...
In which case, as I said, it's possible it's a defect with the hardware. If that's true, the best thing you can do is send the unit for servicing - links are located to the right side of this page.
The problem is that i leave in an island,i don't know if you have service in greece an the most important how long it will take and how i'll work during tha summer period... :( !!!
What about the hardware reset...there is a video on youtube : http://youtu.be/NhZ-RWgEpS4
Maybee i can try it...
You can try it but I'm not sure that it will address the issue you're describing.
For around 5 months I found the DDJ-SX to be an excellent controller with perfect sound quality, then it just crashed in the middle of a gig. It appears to have a hardware problem which prevents it being switched on/off a couple of times. On around the third occasion it refuses to light up, note that a laptop is not connected whilst testing. Maybe it needs to cool down.
Hello,
I've recently purchased a pioneer ddj-sx.
Yesterday when i switched on the controller it was sending a high frequency sound continuously at the speakers and the headphones.
I'm sure it's not the speakers/cables/plugs/headphones fault.
When I switch the controller off and on again everything is fine but if i shut it down and switch it on again the problem comes back.
Could you please help me understand what the problem might be?
Thanks in advance.
@Loukas > Please return your controller to the point of purchase if it is within their return policy, otherwise you will need to send it for service with Pioneer. You can find our list of international support contacts here.
