I went to Dawson's in the UK today. They were very helpful, and provided two contact numbers to try and find out whats happening to my controller. I bought it last Xmas from Dolphin Music, it failed mid set 2 weeks ago. On returning it to Dolphin they said it would take 6 to 8 weeks, and has been sent to Europe. Dawson's said it would have been sent to a sub contractor, maybe Videotec or Cosmic Electronics. I have not figured out where these companies are based, but I am surprised that Pioneer do not deal with their own guarantee work. I'll be even more surprised if they don't have a repair center in the UK. This is not the service I expect from the leading company in the DJ market, their equipment is so expensive, it should therefore be reliable, and if a fault develops then it should be rapidly solved so as to minimize customer inconvenience. I am very annoyed about being deprived of a piece of kit which I had begun to depend. Anyway I might get some answers tomorrow.

SeguirHow long must I wait for the return of my faulty DDJ-SX?
Hello Pioneer,
I have recently bought one of your top controllers, it is the DDJ-SX. I was half way through a set in one of my venues, and it turned itself off, becoming unresponsive. Due to this I have lost the venue, and my controller has been sent to Europe for repair. Therefore I have nothing to DJ with for six to eight weeks. Can you help me get my controller back in a shorter period of time?
I am a humble pioneer fan, if I bought your CDJ 2000 Nexus, and if it needed repair, would that also take six to eight weeks?
I struggle to find the money to buy your expensive equipment, but do so because it is the industry standard, and hence I expect it to be reliable.

http://www.cosmic-uk.com/ in Essex, not Europe as I was told.
http://www.videotec.co.uk/ H mm..well I suppose Oxford and Essex are sort of in Europe.
Why were we told it had been sent to Europe?
CORRECTION. IT'S 4 WEEKS TODAY (Friday 27/06/2014) THAT MY CONTROLLER STOPPED WORKING .
I spent over £800 last Xmas and have no idea when I will next see my broken DDJ-SX.
This piece of kit has damaged my reputation, and income.
I've been sitting patiently waiting for something, anything, even an email, and didn't realize it had been 4 weeks.
The item was returned to Dolphin Music on the Tuesday following the Friday that it failed.
It has been gone for just under 4 weeks.
I contacted Cosmic, they did not have the controller , but they were very polite, understanding, and helpful.
It appears I have found our DDJ-SX!
I phoned Videotec, they refused to discuss the DDJ-SX as I was classified as a 3rd party, however they took our details, name, address, and the place we bought it from, parting by saying they would contact Dolphin. Within 5min Steve, the salesman at Dolphin, was on the phone confirming that the DDJ-SX had been sent to Videotec, not Europe, and it would be back next week about Wednesday. I told him I'd love him forever if he did that! We have a gig which is important to us on Friday.
Brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As a result of my phone conversations I have found that the fault on our DDJ-SX is likely to have been in the DSP voltage protection circuit.
FAULT DESCRIPTION: Besides going off totally mid-gig, when tested without a laptop connected, on startup the lights flash. Switch it off. Switch it back on, and the lights will flash. However on the 3rd try nothing happens. No lights.
I hope this thread helps other Pioneer users in the future.
It is my belief this unit could have been returned within 2 weeks, however it has just been sitting around in Essex.
This has become an interesting, and informative experience.
