Instant Double feature request

Hello guys,

i woke up this morning thinking to "if" it was possible to Pioneer Engineers to add such a feature to CDJ2000 in linked mode via a quick access buttons combination (like pressing LINK + next track buttons or LINK + play etc..).

For those wondering what this feature is, it's like people using Serato software being able to instantly duplicate a soundtrack on the other deck, not only loading but synched in time too (ie: track x is playing on deck 1, it's currently at 1min20 playtime, press combination and you get same track x being played at 1min20 too).

I m requesting it because often, i m reloading a same track on the other deck for some effects / juggling / scratch before moving on, and this action could then be performed much faster, and open new 'remixing possibilies" to CDJ2000 users.

Thanks for reading.

Regards.

It has a quick load feature to copy the other player, but yes currently there is nothing that sync's both players in time and tempo.

Good idea mate.

That is a great idea, if I understood it well!

You say that if I press for example, "Link + Play" as a combination, it will get or give information to the other CDJ player via link!

or just HID mode??

??

nice one :)

@ metcdj2k >  I'm away from my gear for a few days, but I think you press "Link" (if you're using Link) and something will show up to select a player number... Ex. my No. 3 is playing, I press "Link" again on No. 2, and I can select "No. 3" from within the window, then what is displayed on No. 3 will show on No. 2 and you just have to select it again to load the track.

If it's not hitting the "Link" button again, try tapping the "Menu" button and see if that works. I don't use it, but unfortunately I can remember how it works exactly. lol

I will test it out on my gear later, but I'm sure you will get it before I get a chance to! lol

Try it out and let us know which one worked.

Thanks,

Foster

Thanks for the tip Foster, just found out the exact way to do it. It's like a shortcut to prevent whole tree browsing.

For others needing it : assuming both players are linked, when a file is playing on a deck, press on the other deck "info" then "menu", select the name of the player where the current playing song is and push "select" button 3 times (accepting player No + accepting song + loading song).

While waiting for some instant double still, It will already save me some time Foster, especially in deep tree sorting. Thank you again. Cheers :)

Nice little tip there, and I did always wonder what an Instant Double was.

Having instant doubles would be a game changer...now that there's sync, I'm sure there's got to be a way to engineer it in the CDJ/XDJ future models.
