SeguirCDJ2000 Nexus Firmware Release Oct.29, 2012 Announcement
Pulse,
Many thanks for the heads up on the Firmware update. Would you happen to know if this specific update is going to address the HID Control Issue for Serato Scratch Live?
Thank you!

The menu option needs to be added to the hardware (CDJ2000Nexus) via Firmware update (Pioneer).
This was the same exact issue that we had with the 1st Gen. CDJ2000s; which Pioneer was able to fix through a Pioneer delivered firmware update (Serato did not change anything, their code continues to be the same).
It's on both ends as the new display requires adjustment from both teams.
good to know, I thought it was all on Serato now being that the decks are "HID" ready as per the site
So, basically Serato Scratch Live DJ's will need to hold on to their Gen.1 CDJ2000s and forget about the CDJ2000 Nexus; given the fact that Gen.2 CDJ2000s (Nexus) will not work in HID mode with Serato.
I have tried the Code CD's from Serato and its nothing but a JOKE!!! None of the Hot Cues that worked with Gen.1 CDJ2000s will work when running CODE CDs. Also keep in mind that SERATO CODE CDs can only run for 7 to 8 minutes and need to keep on pressing the << back button to make sure that your track doesn't playing once the code CD runs out.
Pulse,
I'm a Die Hard Serato DJ, and have lots of hot cues preset. Based on your response, should I just return these decks and go back to Gen. 1 CDJ2000s?

Good news to hear you are listoning Pulse, Really cant wait to update my decks!
Technically, the CDJ2000Nexus, is the best thing on the market, mechonically, they are a fantastic peice of kit,
Though ...
Software - is bug ridden and causing alot of issues
Firmware 1.02 is poor
Rekordbox - 2.01 seems unstable
==========================================================
Also things like Android support have not been fully sorted, The Ipad works very well but there are numberous posts about Andriod.
Also a Firmware update needs to happen to let the Nexus operate in the same way as the AERO.
The Aero's option to plug in a HD, and use a IPad to control the HD, is a a MASSIVE LEAP FORWARD for anyone that doesnt wan to use a DVs or Laptop.
The fact that a £3000 pair of CDJs cant do something that its £900 brother, cant seems an outstandly BAD oversite.
Ive spend nearly £400 trying to get around this awful issue!! Im really annoyed and even more bafflied why no one has actully commented why the nexus cant support this.
Its could be fixed with a firmware update ... but why will you now let us know whats happening. i really want to use my Ipad with this, though im not going to pay another £700 to upgate to an Ipad 4, with 64gb.
Persoally I need 128gb Min, ive got though every solution and really am vexed at the lack of clarity over this matter. Please liston to your customers Pioneer.
Great! looking forward to the update BADLY! I also hope there will be a Rekordbox update in not to long from now which improves stability, new analyzing method without crashing.
I had a gig tonight and went swell. another one tomorrow in MA, should be good too i hope!
Praise yourself lucky.I had a nexus freezing and not doing a emergency loop when doing a radio show . And I really hate radio silence and mix disaster when on air!
really nice announcement! looking forward to it and hope to see some extra features
I just like to use the existing features.. But to do that they need to work properly.. Don't care about any new features till then..
@tasos > Of course, stability is the number 1 priority and then build from there.
I cant wait for tomorrow, I really hope all these errors are sorted,
Au damm u kidding me.. we sold already our old CDJ2000 and bought 5 of them Nexus for dry/hire. A lot of people take the CDJs in HID and now we have huge problems to get the Nexus on Tour.
And another thing:
We try to update our Nexus with the new Firmware Update, but we can´t open the Firmwaremenu in the player with "USB Stop" and "Reloop/Exit" ...
How can i do that right??
@DJ René Read the attached update guide in this post.
usb+reloop no usb exit+reloop
i tried it like in this guide, but it not works on Nexus.. so its now a another combination or nexus has a problem with updating.. notice: i´ve pushed the Button next the USB and the Loop Exit Button like in description
Well it works on the NXS because I just updated my players... Remember that you should hold the buttons while you power up the players!
strange..
i do this procedure now on 3 different Nexus but no reactions.
What settings do you have on ure Nexus? I´ve got quantize, autocue, key adjust, vinyl mode and so on ad my settings.. may be thats the reason it doesn´t work and i have to reset this settings befor i update the nexus. Or is it possible that now on the nu player the buttons to push are not the same as everywhere?? (i´m from europe/ge)
Yes, hold 2the 2 buttons BEFORE you turn on the power, continue to hold them through the logo screen until it says to insert a USB stick.
but we can´t open the Firmwaremenu in the player with "USB Stop" and "Reloop/Exit" ...
its the USB button under the blue link button + "reloop/exit" then turn the deck on and keep them pressed down until it says to insert the usb drive
OMG ... ure right :D
Its not the same like the old CDJ2000, but the button under "Link" works..
YEAH, ure save my day.. thx :)
Can someone give me the link for the NXS firmware update please?
Thanks, but that says Ver 1.04
My software is already Ver 1.04
wow, when did you get your decks?
lol what???
Interesting, did we got an "old" fw release today?
wow, that would actually answer some questions, did they post old fw? I doubt it though
@S-TYPE, when you go into the NEXUS menu, all the way at the bottom it says 1.0.4? when did you buy them?
