CDJ-2000 MK1 Loops

Another one for your engineers, since the update of either Rekordbox 2.0.1 or the firmware 4.20 loops are now unusable, keep going out on tracks that used to stay in!!

The only thing that has changed on my once 'working ok' setup is pioneer updated firmware or software....I wish I never updated either!!!!!

Please get this sorted!!

@Gary Mac > What do you mean by 'tracks keep going out'?

I mean that in the middle of a perfect mix hit the 4 beat loop button and its all over .... get it?

Never used to happen .... the mix would stay in sync with 2 decks running loops. Now they are way out!

I too have noticed this issue. I'm a bedroom DJ, so fortunately I can afford to wait for a fix.. :)

I play mostly tech-house and techno, with both WAVs and 320 kbps CBR MP3s. I found it strange that I suddenly had to nudge the platter a lot more than usual after the update. Should've stayed with 4.11 I guess, but I like being on the bleeding edge. ;)

I've been getting this issue also.  At first I thought it was just me but after reading the posts I now know I'm not alone.

@ moderators : by any chance would it be possible a firmware release that could take our gear just one version back so we can use the loops again? Would be great not having to wait forever untill they fix it. Some djs use a lot of loops during their mixes and I am one of those. That would be a great help from pioneer to mk1 users and just for a matter or emergency so we don't miss the feature.

Its a good point. I think its outrageous how these updates get released to us without proper testing. We update in confidence and then things go wrong :(

Surely in light of all the firmware problems, MK1 and nexus firmware update should be archived so the owner of a said piece of equipment can decide where he/she can take their set up to as all Pioneer seem to do is make peoples set ups unusable each time an update is available ,I have not updated my cdj2k's because of all the problems since I purchased them in fear of making them unplayable !!! SOME SUPPORT THAT IS HUH!!!!!

its true, all the updates are breaking stuff, did they switch engineers in the last year or so or is the new technology in these decks and mixers beyond what the current engineers can handle?

cdj-2000 update, broken loops

djm-2000 update, broken sound

cdj-2000 nexus, just a whole mess all around

RB 2.0.1, crashes when I sneeze

its seems like we all just wanna go back to previous FW and software, get your crap together pioneer, the reputation is going down the tubes very fast

I can't see why some sort of rollback firmware can't be released when something goes wrong. That would make all users wait more patiently while they get things right. Leaving us with broken features untill they are able to fix is not a professional behaviour in my point of view.

Exactly the same issues here. I don't know if it's Rekordbox or the CDJ 2000's. It is really annoying! The problem isn't even consistent with the inacuracy. Sometimes the same track can be out by differing percentages. Sometimes the tracks won't stay in no matter what I do. Bad bad form Pioneer. Making us look like mugs infront of a crowd or audience of listeners!!

When an app update on android or apple is messed up, they then release an update to the previous version that works, why can't you lot...??

Just hit that link to the previous thread. Pulse said 'We'll get this in to the engineers to be sorted out when the dust settles a bit'.

So, does that statement mean we are no longer as important as the Nexus customers? As long as the new products are sorted and working fine, forget about us loyal customers being mugged off in the queue....

You can be sure a discontinued product support will take longer Dave. Thats why being able to go back to a working firmware would be so important to us!!! Remember: the last firmware update was directed only on nexus connection matters! We always expect it would work smoother than the last one but this time it brought serious problems to mk1 users....

I hear ya mate. I get a double kick in the plums though, as I am also an owner of the famous white elephant.....the DJM 2000!

Ok just got back from a gig. One deck froze during the mix. Had to be restarted.

Loops are a complete NONO now. I need to spin like I had no features like that on my cdjs.

GREAT PIONEER! I'M SOOOOOO HAPPY WITH MY "PRO" GEAR!!!!!

Since people are venting out so much here let me try to put this out...maybe I will feel better!!!

There was this almost kid guy opening the night with some software (I wont mention which) and had a perfect set (in the perspective of no sound failures). When the main dj comes in and try to do his stuff with the gear that looks like the dream of these young guys then shit starts happening! WTF!!!!! Having a software kid laughing at me fighting with my "PRO" gear!!!!!!!!!! HEEEEELLLPPPPPPPPP!

Not happy!

Yeah it would seem that the pioneer bods on here are blind to this thread now...shame....real shame...I've always looked at this forum as a good tool to communicate but now it seems the replies are selective.

under what circumstances are you guys having problems with loops?

Basically,  if your in the mix and you put one of the tracks into a loop you will have to re-pitch the looped track to keep it in sync with the other track. It's comparable to looping on the CDJ 1000's in my opinion.

sorry Paulie but as far as I know CDJ's 1000 didn't have quantize feature. Since djs now are able to adjust beatgrid to make loops tighter Its unbelivable having drifts. Load same track with firmware 4.2 running... you can even loop both of them at the same time. Loops will drift not cause they are simply slighty drifting but they are really going everywhere this time!!!

'sorry Paulie but as far as I know CDJ's 1000 didn't have quantize feature'

That is the point! quantize might as well not be there at the moment. what rekordbox version are you running? i'm not the only person recording this problem.

Same problem here :-(

Is there any solution ???

This is precisely why I don't update my gear until looooong after it gets released and I get weeks (or months) of feedback from people here. I just don't trust Pioneer any longer, which is incredibly sad. I'm still running Rekrodbox 1.5.1 because it actually works, it never crashes, and I can forgo added features for stability.

Stability is #1 priority for me. Period.

I like the hardware of the cdj2000, but the firmware is poor. I have the update 4.10 on my mac, try to reinstall this, but don't worked :-(

What are my options ? Or when is a new fw available ?

@ Pioneer: Please fix this issue fastly !
