The nexus has only been out for a couple of months and has only seen bug fixes and no new features added.
it has been a long while since the cdj 2000 nexus came out and we see there have been some awesome software updates for that unit.
what about the cdj 2000? can we get some nice software updates for that unit as well?

What features (updates) are you looking for or think they should add?
sync will clearly be an issue cause there are no buttons for it. slip mode also: there is no button for it. so, i get that. but why not itunes?
The cdj2000 is done... Your last gift from Pioneer was it getting HID from Traktor. I wouldn't hold your breath. They are not making it anymore. What we all should be asking for is a overhauled Rekord box with camalot keys and be able to use it like serato... Have decks and wave forms also in the program.

I AGREE Pete. I don't care if we get a update for the CDJ 2000nexus for all of 2013 or whatever as long as Rekordbox is fixed, improved on and becomes the standard. Mighty high walls to climb but Pioneer has the cash to throw at it I am sure. But to be serious for a moment, I like updates and wouldn't mind something cool and new to the 2000nxs. I'm sure Pioneer has different people working on different things and doesn't move everyone to rekordbox lol, even if they should... damn, I couldn't stay serious! ;-)
Pete, bang on the money RB is the issue at present for me too as it's so critical to the NXS decks. Problem is its mixvibes technology taken from their Cross DJ software which boasts best in class beat grid ding technology something the pioneer version fails on. An update is pending according to Gavin I just hope it comes soon.
Agreed paul, it's currently very difficult to accurately beatgrid tracks in rekordbox. there's little point in having a sync function on the players or quantised effects on the mixers if the software can't deal with it properly.
Phil,
EXACTLY mate, couldn't put it better myself
The last DJ Mixer I owned was a Peavy Mixer and Dual CD Denon player.
This whole Computer/DJ setup is new to me. I must admit is sort of cool but holly crap it takes a lot of time if you own a lot of songs and if you mess up and delete the wrong file, HD dies or whatever and I have to re-anaylize all my songs again... I may be overlooking something that makes RB easy to transfer from drive to drive, computer to computer or saving a as a back up but I've read cloning must be done to insure hidden files are found and all sorts of crap! I am terrified if my HD dies or even trying to transfer from old computer to new.
Example: A pop down menu with several options to choose from:
Would you like to:
A: Migrate RB to a new drive currently on the same computer or external device (And must be able to re-code itself to a new drive letter also beable to save to both drives as a backup.
B: Put RB on USB to install on new computer (Including new operating systems Win 7 to Win 8) and or save on USB so you can reformat the current HD. Once formating/NewHD/New Computer is done loading and RB is installed plug in USB, select load previous install and all your stuff is now saved and good to go.
I don't know, maybe RB does make things easy and I just don't understand how to save my ass if my HD fails or whatever.
I would like Pioneer to figure something out when it comes to moving/saving RB to other devices and making it easier to do so.
rekordbox works just fine for me. it's the cdj 2000 with that i'm concerned about. it has a usb port. so, why not capture itunes library? and besides, this thread is all about cdj 2000 update. not rekordbox, not cdj 2000 nexus.
as i asked before.. when can we expect some new updates for the cdj 2000? it has been a long while. a wave form and traffic light would be nice too.
@dj shashar... read what I wrote and that was in response to what you wrote. the cdj 2000 us DONE!!! not being made anymore. and the last gift was Traktor HID. U will NOT be getting a wave form or a traffic light.
@dj shahar > QUANTIZE is also missed in MK1 , but function still on a board. Player have MENU button, PIONEER should MAKE SLIP mode ON from this MENU button .
@DJ Pete.. look at the djm2k. now there's the djm2kn. but so what. pioneer still gave us a really nice update.. 3.18. and that mixer update is far better than the cdj update. i figure pioneer will give us all the updates it can to keep us happy. my guess is the only issue pioneer is concerned about is "is it worth the cost?". since the djm2k update was worth it, an update has been released. if an update is small enough, or.. not too expensive to produce, then i'm sure pioneer will gladly give it to us.
so, how about this one.. "loop out marker". there is an orange-yellow-ish arrow for the loop in marker.. so how about one for the loop out. is that too much to ask for as well. my suggestion: have the loop in be the left half of the arrow, and the loop out, be the right half of the arrow.
@ pioneer team member, please submit this request to the developers of the cdj 2000 mk1.
thanks,
dj shahar
They need to fix Rekordbox first! its a total mess right now.. hangups, weird export problems, poor stability, often bad beat detection,
and no its not my notebook ;) I am running the newest I7 processor with Win7 64 bit and 8 gigs of RAM memory together with two fast SSD disks
The cdj 2000 is something we paid for about $1,900. And most of us bought them in sets of 2 or 4. So that's $3,800 each purchase.
Rekordbox is a free software. Why do us CDJ 2000 purchasers need to supply the cost of developing software for Rekordbox instead of the hardware we paid for?
I would really like to see the updated quantized looping and triggering. even if it was just quantized to the song that is playing on that deck (because it wont have sync) traffic light would be nice too. It would just be nice to have these features when I play out and they dont have the newest decks.
After purchasing a pair of CDJ2000NXS, I would actually be a bit annoyed if pioneer were putting time and effort into new features for the old deck that these replaced.

Cheers for that!! so i choose not to upgrade so therefor i shouldn't get any support?
We have sat here for the last 3 years reporting issues and getting things fixed so they can release a new deck and you think we shouldnt get new features?
I rarely get out my pram in here but thats a crap rubbish statement!!
@Looshus, that is really selfish what you write.
So since you got the nexus players, Pioneer shouldn't put any effort at all to cdj2000, cdj900, cdj850 and whatever other cdj, pioneer has released before.
Bravo. Nice way of thinking!!
@ Looshus as a cdj2000 user i feel the same for you and i hope that you will get no support for the nexus when the cdj x000 will be out!
Oh dear I thought I would get that response, it was a bit rash I'm sorry.
I just don't understand why you think that you will get new features added??? You deserve support when things go wrong or when bugs are found by all means, but why would they add nexus features to the old decks?
When the CDJ 3000 comes out I will not expect any of it's features to be incorporated into the Nexus deck.
personally i don't need new features, i need stability!! my cdj stops in the middle of the track! i don't know where the problem is but for sure cdj and rekordbox are not perfect!
I think Looshus is correct. How many companies would do what you ask if everything was equal?
We are in the day and age of firmware so these updates are optional and if it can be done then why not?
We know the chances of updates are slim but the comment was rash as he/she admitted, anyway looshus has apologized and we should move on....
News Flash.... CDJ 2000 MK1 is **"DONE"!! **Time to except it.
i accepted but i also have a news flash for pioneer! i will never buy another product from them! (2 minutes ago both cd player stop- first is blocked second crush in the middle of the song - did the biggest mistake to update to rekordbox 2.0.2. when the 10.8.3 lion wiil be out i will install a fresh 2.0.1 and i will stop to be a betatester for pioneer)
I have never used 2.0.1, could someone tell me why Pioneer went to 2.0.2 if many seem to want to stay with 2.0.1? Or what does 2.0.2 offer that 2.0.1 doesn't?
Any can a {Pioneer} rep at least mention when another update from 2.0.2 might arrive? (1 month, 3 months, a year?) I hate the answer SOON! Soon IMO has come and gone lol!

also they have mentioned a new release will be out early February 2013
It's interesting to say you didn't upgrade so you get no support. But what about someone who has them travels to a club and the club has not upgraded yet? I'm just saying it would be nice to see some (whatever can) be implemented done. If that's nothing fine I will accept that. I know the venue should upgrade but in reality they have tight budgets too so it doesn't always work out that way. And many of them just adopted the 2000 in the last year or or 2.
You would think some people would not be quite as rude as they are. I have the new ones now and a set of the white 2ks and if the people with the older model got a few things that's fine with me. There are a lot of people who can't shell out 3-4 grand every 3 years and there is nothing wrong with the idea that pioneer support them as too.
Don't be such a twat
