[CLOSED] CDJ-2000 Nexus gets slow after a while

After playing more than 2hrs the engine of the CDJ2000Nxs gets suddenly really slow. I tried and tested it with the use of (RB Prepared) USB sticks & SD cards (Both formatted in FAT32 & Macintosh Journaled). It always happens with me. I've asked some collegues and they experience the same problem and it only happens on the nexusses. Not on the MK1's.

The problem only goes away when you restart the players or have all USB's and sd's removed. My guess is that it is some kind of memory that is filling up... It's a real problem. When I use my lacie Fastkey normally the "search" happens within a few seconds (6000tracks). After the slowness coming up it was going to up to 30/40 seconds before the search results pops up. Scrolling thru playlists also was becoming a real problem...

Exactly the same problem that me or DJccccc ! But for us, the players display that our folders on HDD are "empty". So, we need to restart player which have the USB device connected at in order to make disappear this bug !

I insist on the fact this this bug doesn't exist on CDJ 2000 MK1 !!!

Idd, I don't have that problem with the MK1's. ONLY with the nexusses!

very interesting, I notice this too, After a couple of hours as I go in and out of playlists I get the "WAITING WHEEL OF DEATH" every time I go from waveform view to track list

and yes, this never happened with the MK1's on years of use

I just shot a quick video, After letting the decks play for a few hours it seems the playlists with a lot of "green" played tracks takes a while to load. I NEVER got the waiting wheel with the MK1's now it takes a few seconds to get to the tracks which is not good when you are in a rush

You know BriChi, I've got to hand it to you mate.

Almost single handedly, you have been able to identify most of the major faults with these players and capture the problems on video.

I'm sure I'm not the only one that has a huge amount of gratitude for you in bringing these issues to light (most of which have eventually been resolved),

While it's not conclusive that the EMPTY FOLDERS issue is related, to this slow down - it sure does ring alarm bells when you see the menu behaving so slowly as pointed out in this video, that the two are most likely related to memory issues in some way.

Well done mate !!

Thank you Rich, I really appreciate that. I work in the I.T. field for a living and love what I do, Troubleshooting and finding bugs is fun for me, LOL.... I wish I could more involved with the engineers one on one to get this fixed a little faster and reproduce them immediately for them but I guess they are not interested

mine just got a lot worse too, I shot a new quick video, Now when i scrolled the tracks are sooooo delayed to scroll up and down and it takes so long to get to the playlist from the wave

Yep BriChi, That's what I'm dealing with every night I play on nexuses!!! You've captured it! It's a real pain in the *** when you're a powerplay DJ like I (at least try to be ;) )

same here, I tend to be very fast back and forth and this is killing me right now, Rebooting deck fixes it but now I lost all my "played" marked tracks

confirmed too that when using the laptop LINKed it works great, but with USB drive plugged in (mine is a 250gb samsung SSD so it's plenty fast) it gets slower and slower as the night goes on

wow this sucked tonight, I had 2 times it sat at waiting for a good 15 seconds later in the night. I hope someone is reading this and there is a fix in the next update, this has forced me now to stop using the USB drive and go back to using my laptop linked :(

I can't remember It was getting that slow on previous firmwares... Maybe something to check if somebody has nexuses with one of the first firmware versions?

Im happy these HARD DISK or SD CARD issues with the Nexus are been noticed, this multitude of USB Bugs has driven me insane since September, the 2000 MK1, is perfect - never has an issue of this sort.

The Nexus, becomes slow, loosinges files ... and also ive noticed something else

When you want to "re write" to the HD, say to save a Que point, a Hot cue or even a loop or Memory save Cue. An error comes up and says HARD DISK FULL !!!

I get 2 hours then have to reset my HD & rebood the drive- Im sick and tired on this bug Pio, the MK1 is faultless, - the Nexus is really struggling still. Ive suffered since Sept 12, nearly 8 months.

I use to play SD cards currently the fastest Class 10 +, yet after a few hours of play in the club I see a serious slowdown of the equipment. When you change a file browsing window mode  I often wait more than 30 seconds.

General view tracks is now really difficult. The earlier use of the USB was even worse. It also happened jam track playback equipment, which resulted in a terrible screech.

It is not acceptable!

@Pulse, Gavin: make BriChi a member of the beta-testers
Send him some cdj's, djm,s and more hardware. Send him the beta's of rekordbox, and firmware's.
That's just a few $$ for Pioneer. It's nothing.

Result: BriChi will be very happy with his new toys, Pioneer will be very happy with BriChi finding numerous bugs which will not hit the streets.
We all will enjoy that, have more fun with our gear, and less bad publicity on this forum.

It's a win-win situation. BriChi has proven his value.

Maybe start a new thread, and everybody gives his/her thumbs up for BriChi as the new beta-tester? :-))))

Hey, I'm a trainer and moderator for Pioneer and I don't even have a CDJ2000nexus never mind a beta.

The issue has been ticketed and we'll report back if we hear anything in terms of resolution for this issue.
