XDJ-Aero Rekordbox, can't get rotary to work on Aero

I just noticed I put a post up like this the other day but no reply on it. Sorry. If you can help that would be great :)

I haven't had the opportunity to use the AERO with rekordbox so I can't say if it should or shouldn't navigate the tracks like Serato would with an HID controller.

It's got me beat how I did it, it would save me having to use the USB stick or my iphone, as I have most my music on my pc. The option is on the Aero to use it. Once you link Rekordbox to the Aero from the Aero you press the rotary knob, I have the Dell pc option ticked and under that I have Rekordbox control - control with rotary option. It worked once for me but it's not letting me now. I would love this option again, as my Aero is no where near my pc now (Aero upstairs, pc downstairs). i think once the aero is connected to rekordbox & your able to load tracks to the aero press the reckordbox button on the aero then press the rotary select button & your should see the name of your computer on the aero's display. press it again & turn the knob. You will have to do that for both decks . 

Thats the bit thats not working, from where you say "press it again & turn the knob." Thats not working for me. I am pressing it, but it's not doing nothing. My girlfriend said it moving on the pc downstairs in Rekordbox. I am pressing the knob, but it's not changing the settings ie from Dell-PC to **Control with **rotary. I know the button works ok, as it can change other features on the Aero, it's just not letting me switch between Dell-PC & Control with rotary. Thanks for helping. Mark

I would check your firewall settings, I had the reverse problem where I could control Rekordbox but it would not load any files to the Aero. I found my firewall was blocking Rekordbox. Try turning the firewall off if it works explore the firewall settings in more depth.

That never worked for me :(. My computer is connected to the Aero to Automatically connect when it's turned on. I can do everything else, apart from use the rotary controlls on Rekordbox. My internet security is McAfee, I can't see nothing about the Aero in that. I am lost

Should the security on the Aero be WPA2?

I don't ever recall seeing the scroll selected track being displayed on the aero. And I fairly sure you don't have to keep selecting the laptop when you want to use the scroll select. Try having the display on the info mode and use the scroll select.

The way I have been doing it is...

1. Turn the Aero on

2. Turn Rekordbox on, on the pc downstairs

3. Press the link button on the pc and the Aero is now connected

After that I can't view the tracks onto the Aero screen. The screen on the pc moves from the rotary actions on the Aero upstairs. I just can't get the Control with rotary section ticked. I have only ever done this once, I don't know how I did it but I can't do it now :(. Thanks for the help

That should have said...

1. Turn the Aero on

2. Turn Rekordbox on, on the pc downstairs

3. Press the link button on the pc and the Aero is now connected

4. Go upstairs and select the Rekordbox button on the Aero

5. Select Dell PC (My Computer) Click rotary knob

6. This next screen I am stuck on. I have the option to select "Dell-PC" or "Control with Rotary" . The only option that will work is Dell-PC

Thats it "Dell-PC Control with rotary"  . you only have one option. 

turn the rotary & it should work. You won't be able to see the rekordbox info on the aero just control reckordbox from the pot & load tunes. So you will need your laptop near the aero to view what your doing. 

I think I am loosing my marbles lol. So infact the Aero does not show up the tracks on the Aero screen, only on a PC you can select your tracks, not view them on the Aero from Rekordbox. I don't know what I was thinking of. I was sure I had done it the way I have been going on about. It would be great if you could control Rekordbox away from the PC, view the tracks on the Aero from WI-FI. Can I get a Hard drive device and plug it into the rear of the Aero, so that I can still use the USB slot to record? If so would I be able to view the tracks without the PC from the Aero display? As long as you have enough memory left on the USB stick you can play tracks off it & record back to the same USB stick.

Also at the same time you can view & load tracks from the USB with the app on your iPhone or android.
The USB on the back is only used for midi & the sound card for software ie traktor/I tunes/ logic ect.

Amigos . Gostaria de sugerir update do xdj aero para acessar mais de um cue memory e tambem loop memory seria uma solucao definitiva ja que o mesmo nao pode ser atualizado para disparar hotcues. Gostaria que Pulso levasse essa ideia aos engenheiros da pionner. Obrigado

Friends. Aero would like to suggest update of xdj  Aero over a cue memory and also Loop memory would be a definite answer from the same can not be upgraded to shoot hotcues. I wish Pulse got the idea to the engineers of pionner. Thank you.
