Guys - this really is beyond a joke now. I was fortunate enough to have my R1 replaced but only with the shop demo unit and at that time i was desperate and any replacement was welcome. As both Pioneer and the retailer were both saying it was each others problem to either replace the unit or get it fixed. either way i was going to be without the unit for along while. So although some of the issues have been resolved with the faders etc, i still get the master tempo issues and the unit just freeze. Not to mention the vinyl mode is just well lets say i get better scratch modes off free DJ apps for my ipad never mind a £850 pioneer unit.
I really think that these issues will never get resolved and it will just be the case of how long can we put up with it before we sell up and go for something new. Its a shame as i waited ages for this type of unit to come out from Pioneer that had both Midi and CD capability for so long before i finally sold my CDJ1000mk3/DJM600 and now kinda wish i hadn't and just put up with carrying them around.
So i think we either need to now put some form of legal action against Pioneer with us all joining force together and stating the units are not fit for purpose and are substandard in comparison to the rest of the pioneer range, to force a recall. Or looks like we will have to just put up with it.
Lets face it taking things out on Pulse is not really the right way, as from what i have been told he doesn't actually work for Pioneer and does actually give really good advice generally. I think his hands are tied with this unit he just has no choice but to refer us to our dealers.
What i have never worked out with this forum though is why no official pioneer representatives ever post or acknowledge our problems.
Anyway rant over and good luck to you all with your R1's for the future!
