What's going on with your gear? If u don't mind me asking. I just got mines last week.
Are there any mods still active here? I haven't seen any activity around here in a while and I have a few issues with my R1 but I don't know if its a hardware fault or if it can be fixed without a return!

3 things (I've only been trying it out for about half an hour in total over 3 sessions of playing about with it):
(1+2 are with non-rekordbox, rekordbox analysed files on USB stick and CDs)
As soon as I got it I updated to 1.10 so I don't know if this was already the case before the update.
Don't sound like a hardware issue to me at least. Which could be a good thing. #1 the back spin could be a few things I have in mind. I will try that when I get home to see if I get that and keep you posted on it # 2 going threw the tracks fast. That reminds me when I had my cdj 400. I had the same problem and the respond I got was. Why you spinning so fast! It's not meant for that. But the crazy part it when I had the cdj 350 I didn't have that problem but my track was run threw rekordbox . Could be fix with a firmware #3 I have a friend that use cd and he never got a frezze on his unit when using cd. I think he burn his with audio cd and I think PC cd too. And trust me if something happens. He one of the guys to bitch about it to me. So he been good and happy with his unit. Once I get home later on tonight I see. If I get what u experiencing. Again don't think it's a hardware issue. Could be tweak up with a firmware am sure. But am sure it has to do with the music file and what type it is. Most of the time that's the problem which cause these player to at up. That's why they make firmware so that the unit can obtain how the music file are sometimes
Thanks!
Yeah I retried it with the same CDs for a couple of minutes and no problem, maybe that was a one off.
But even if a firmware update could tweak stuff I mean what's the likelihood we'll even get a 1.11?
If it is or if we can figure it out I'd be glad because I don't want to have to send my day old unit back!
Yeah I know what you mean. I don't want to send mines back either. It's a hot unit. Not sure what are the chances they will make firmware anytime soon. Remember it all has to go back the the engineer to figure it out. Like I said to you before. It all depend on the file on the track. And when analyze threw rekordbox. Could it handle the file codes. You can go threw iTunes or any software to reconvert the file over to see if you can get better results
This is my opinion. I feel like music file has to do with a lot that's cause this unit to have problem.
Yeah its definitely better with rekordbox analysed files.
All my files are 320Kbps Mp3 and rekordbox analysed though.
These aren't huge downers, but if its £849 I'd want it to work properly even if I won't use those features much.
You so right! When you pay a lot of money for pioneer gear u want them top notch! 320 mp3 are good. Are they originals? Meaning did you buy them? Or you just downloaded from 3rd party's
3rd parties, I've analysed the spectrums and they are 320Kbps, I don't know if its maybe the codecs from the 3rd parties.
That right there could be. Sometime the codecs could screw up the units which cause error 1345 and so on. It's best to buy them from known website like beat port or traxsource That my own opinion. Not saying that those tracks would be perfect all the time. But those site get them from the main source. And they go threw with rekordbox fine. Is like when you just made a mix cassette tape and now u have a lot of people copy it over and over. After awhile your first mix tape u made won't sound the same it looses it's quality. Aka codecs. That's how I feel about it. And again that's my own opinion
I'll check with some legit tracks tomorrow, I have some .Wav files as well I'll try with them too.
Yeah man! Like I said before when I get home I'll check out my unit as well and see what up and keep u posted
Thanks that'd be a great help!
On a side note its cool you can record in audacity from the USB cable if you're not using MIDI mode!
Hey Lewis
I got to play with the unit. And I did what you said the problem you have. Same thing happen to me. Seem to me like a firmware issue. Not so much a hardware well at least to me it don't. Clearly reminded me of my cdj 400 they did the same thing. Am ok with mines being like that for the time being. I don't really back spin or go threw my tracks fast. I play soulful and Afro house don't really need to do that stuff. Everything else seem to be working ok. Sorry couldn't help much about the issue maybe one of the mods could help and talk to the engineers about it. See if they could fix it and make it better. Good luck!
Yeah its not a huge problem for me either, I'm glad it seems like a firmware problem but I haven't seen much mod activity in this forum in a while so I don't know if they can ticket it to be fixed.
Thanks anyway, at least I know its not just my unit now.
