Actually, there are no "employees," we're all volunteers!
The problem seems to be that the vinyl mode isn't allowing scratching while the unit is playing. The "looping" you're hearing is a normal "stutter-cue" for CDJ mode.
I've opened a ticket with the engineers to see if they can shed any light on this issue.
@Dj Hairless > It might be a problem caused by Touch Sense level setting. Please try increasing the Touch Sense level from the Utility. Long press the INFO/UTILITY button to enter UTILITY mode and rotate the Rotary selector to increase the touch sense level.
@Pulse Thnx for you're reply!!! sorry for my second post but i was angry cause i didnt find any solution... i've increase the touch sense level but still no luck... i think the bug is cause recently i change the touch sense level to a -4 and may be that caused the bug... it is possible to reinstall the firmware??? will reset my unit???
i've update today to 1.11 firmware but the bug is still present :(
@DJ Hairless > Thanks, I've asked the engineers to follow-up.
thnx Pulse!!!
just an update... i've installed yesterday the new firmware 1.12 but the bug is still present
Thanks for the update - info pending from engineers.
Yesterday i bought the Traktor Audio 2 mk2 for using it with traktor dj from my iapd and i discoverd that channel 2 deck 2 phone/line output is not stereo or i think so cause i can only hear the sound only on one speaker... the ch1 working fine... the sound output from my TA2 it's ok ... but from my mixer ch 2 the sound is only on one speaker... on the other speaker i can only hear some low noise... what might be the problem???
scrap that!!! i've noticed that one of my RCA didn't work well :(
lol - okay, still waiting on info re: the vinyl mode. Have you checked the sensitivity of the platter? See pg. 24 of the owner's manual.
yes! i've tried every touch sensitivity from -4 to +4 but still no luck... i can live with this bug,i want to sell this controller to buy the new one xdj rx and dont want to be a problem for future buyer :(
@Hairless > Can you give this FAQ a try to test?
http://pioneerdj.com/support/product.php?c=1435&lang=en&p=DDJ-SR&t=faq
i followed some of the steps (not all can be applied to my unit) but the bug is still there... 4 for me is fine...my only concern is that it will decrease the price selling if the future buyer can't live with this stutter-cue bug... maybe the problem could be hardware one and not software seeing that i've installed to firmware upgrade and the problem is still there
Correct, some of that applies to the SR specifically, but the main test the engineers were wanting to know the results of was this:
-Touch on a jog with one hand and touch on any part of DDJ-SR other than the jogs with another hand:
If the jog does not work, the unit itself could be the cause of this problem.
If the jog works, the problem could be caused by the devices connected to the unit.
If you have another computer to test it with, that would eliminate the computer as being part of the problem based on the info at the bottom of the FAQ:
-Depending on your computer, especially for a Build-to-Order PC, an amplifier connected to DDJ-SR and the grounding conditions, the touch sensor of the jogs might not work properly as expected.
i did test the touch on jog with one hand and with the other hand on xdj r1... but nothig happend same thing when deactivate the vinil mode button and pause the track... my pc is macbook pro retina 15" late 2013...now i dont remenber if the bug was present from the moment i bought de unit... i've noticed this bug only after updateing the unit to version 1.10 and the pc was the same macbook...anyway my intention's are to sell this unit and buy xdj rx even if i see that even this one for now is not bug free
I understand; engineers are simply trying to determine if the problem is with the hardware or elsewhere.
Based on your comments the engineers feel that the hardware is faulty. While they understand that you are going to be selling the unit, they recommend you have it serviced while you still own it as it may be covered by warranty whereas the next owner would not have coverage.
but if is a hardware problem it's possible that is on both decks??? and yeah is still on warranty until december i think... but the problem with service is that here in italy might take up to 2 or 3 mounth's... when i'm gonna sell the unit i'm going to tell the future buyer about this bug... is not a big thing...the only problem is that i have to drop the selling price...thnx pulse for you're patience... if u want to u can close this thread
The hardware problem could exist on one or both sides of the controller.
I leave it up to you -- it's your controller, you are more than welcome not to fix it! ;)
I'll mark this as solved for now, if you have any other questions you can always post a new topic and link back to this one. Cheers!
