It's entirely possible as the R1 sends MIDI signal and even Traktor 3 had MIDI support. There may be some small issues with it but I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Will Traktor 3 (v.3.3) work with the XDJ-R1
was don't a bit of spring cleaning and found the software disk for Traktor 3 (v.3.3) that came with the Behringer DDM4000 mixer, I had a few years back which I upgraded to the Pioneer DJM700.
With VDJ-LE that comes with the XDJ-R1, the features are very limited and not fully functional.
Will the Traktor 3 (v3.3) will work/ compatible with the XDJ-R1

I don't necessarily think freezing is related to the MIDI hardware you're using it with -- that's more likely to be an application or audio driver item.
