Rekordbox not creating library when removing usb for use with xdj-r1

Hi,

The issue is as stated in the title, seems to be ok with a 32gb usb but not with a 64. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

  Thanks in advance,  Paul

@Paul > What is the process by which you're removing the drive? Are you ejecting it from rekordbox or closing the application before you pull it from the USB slot?

Hi Pulse, thanks for getting back to me. I'm ejecting the usb by clicking the create folder and eject usb icon on the devices panel... Rekordbox says it's creating a library and starts to create then stops at around 30% and tells me is failed to create and folder and to eject the usb?!

  Cheers, Paul

Hi Pulse,

Ok i followed the youtube video to the letter and reformatted the usb as described twice...waited over an hour to load up 36gb of music onto the usb, eventually it reached 100% so i clicked the create library and eject usb..it did exactly the same thing as before...first it says UNSUPPORTED TRACKS WERE FOUND IN THE PLAYLIST then another popup tells me its failed to create a library.

Help would be appreciated, i was hoping to be using my new compact dj setup on saturday night!

  cheers

The "unsupported tracks" warning is the first clue that there is a problem and that's likely why it's been stopping, even if you haven't seen that error before. Have you somehow imported tracks that shouldn't be in rekordbox? Typically you are able to import WAV, AIFF, AAC and MP3 files but I wonder if there's something else that somehow got past that screen ... or perhaps is outside the typical encoding format for any of those filetypes and is thus causing an error? Do any of the files on that playlist have a missing overview waveform?

Ive just been through my collection and they all have the overview waveform next to the track details, is there a way to locate the music that is causing the issue?

I'll have to check with the engineers as I'm not sure a logging file is created when an export stops... can you take a look in the Crashes folder - go to the Finder and from the toolbar select Go > Go to Folder... and copy/paste this:

~/Library/Pioneer/rekordbox/Crashes

If there are any files there, please attach the newest one(s).

Progress update- i went though my playlists adding them to the usb one by one then creating a library ...so I've got 90% of my music on now with just one playlist that causes the "failed to create library" error.

this was the only file in the crashes folder..

file:///Users/paulroberts/Library/Pioneer/rekordbox/Crashes/97CB4C0A-63F4-4054-8E5D-580494F5CBFA.dmp

@Paul > As you were able to narrow it down to one playlist, could you try transferring small batches from that playlist to see which track causes the crash?

Also, what is the date on that crash file?

Hi Pulse,

Ive narrowed it down to the tune that was stopping Rekordbox creating a library so thats all good! Thanks for your help!!

Now I've had a chance to have more of a play with the R1 (about 2 hrs) I've found when the Vinyl mode is turned on it ISN'T actually on and for some reason i was mid-mix and a track jumped which caused my mix to train-wreck, luckily i was only at home!

looks like i'll be sending this one back for a replacement

@Wojciech > Please follow the same instructions as provided for Paul; narrow down the export to figure out which problematic song(s) are causing the export and thus the library write to fail.

@Ewerton > Please create a new post and outline what your problem is with as many details as necessary; posting a reply here saying "I have the same problem" doesn't help me provide you with answers when there are already several problems discussed. Thank you.
