[SOLVED] XDJ-RX locked Deck from loading a mp3 file

Sorry, but load lock option is not available on the RX.

It should still follow the LOAD LOCK option from your USB device settings within rekordbox:

I picked up my RX today. Are you saying there's no warning stopping you from loading into a 'playing' deck? I noticed this as well and I think it's my only complaint. Hopefully a firmware update can sort this.

We posted a response at the same time Pulse. I'll check my settings in Rekordbox.

Interesting I've just tried the above. I had a pop up when inserting my USB in to my Macbook saying 'do you want to apply user settings to this device' selected yes > tried USB in RX but load lock isn't working?

Hi!

I can confirm that none of the settings done in RekordBox is pickup by the RX. So the lock function is unfortunately not working.

Could "Pioneer" please get back to us with information about if this is how they would like the RX to work? If not, please prioritize this function in the next update, thanks!

Rekordbox 3.2

XDJ-RX v1.00

Alex

Thanks for confirming this Alex, I thought I was possibly being dumb.

I've asked the engineers to explain why it a) doesn't have the option and b) follow the setting from rekordbox.

Pulse: my mistake, I thought you where sort of "a man in the middle" between us end-users and the engineers at Pioneer. So sorry for misunderstanding your position. Keep up the good work ;-)

Richie: As a DJ how play 100% on Nexus equipment otherwise, I can't tell you how many times I'm loading on Deck 1 now in the beginning with the RX ... Grrrrr :-)

Alex I'm totally with you on this - I use Nexus set ups out and about and I loaded the wrong deck about three times when having my first practice go on the RX! Easily done

@Alex > I am a bit of a "man in the middle" -- I'm the first line of support for the forums, and if there are things I can't answer, we elevate it to the engineers rather than have them provide direct support (so they can keep working on products!)

I understand the frustration with loading the wrong deck. The engineers have said that they will be working to implement this into an upcoming update as the Load Lock setting is not currently observed by the RX.

Thanks for your patience guys! This is a great new unit but will take a couple of updates to get fully settled. ;)

When will the rx be available for the general population?!?!?!

I've been patiently waiting because when I first read about the xdj rx, it said that it was going to be available in February. I now am realizing that it won't be available until march... WHEN WILL I BE ABLE TO BUY THE DARN THING? It's getting frustrating because I will already have to drive 4 hours round trip to buy it.. with my luck I'll check the release date in a couple days and it'll read March 2016 -_-

@matt > You may have noticed that some of the users on the forums already have their RX... so it IS available to the general public! Availability at _your dealer _may vary based on shipping and the number they have ordered. It's best to contact them directly to inquire about timing.

The only dealer that I can find that will be carrying it is sam ash and when I contact them they tell me that from the looks of the Pioneer website the rx will be released sometime in March- I live in alliance Ohio zip code 44601, are you aware of any other licensed Pioneer dealers?

Sorry, I can't post dealer information to the site; whatever information your dealer provides regarding sales timing is all I have.

Hi is there any news on this feature coming or the XDJ-RX reading the CDJ setting for Eject/Load Lock?  It is too easy on the XDJ-RX to tap the wrong button when loading decks!

Watch for future firmware updates to learn if/when this feature is included.

Is this seriously not fixed yet? Unbelievable. What a botched product & release.

@chris van horn > To be honest, this isn't something that's "broken," it was simply not a feature implemented on this unit and is scheduled to be included in a future update, of which there have been none since this request was made. Your patience is appreciated.

That first quote was before I confirmed with the engineers.

Things taken out of context are wonderful, aren't they?

Yesterday it happened to me again after 2.5 years. Full dancing crowd and I loaded the right track in the wrong deck. Although I got a good drop from the waiting deck it was a huge shock. I realized that this could happen again very easy and without any impact of alcohol or chicks. It never happened on the CJS because I always prepared on the off-air player.

Please, please, please don't forget to implement this. I would pay for this function. ;-)

How the hell you go to play on an event if u dont know your gear? seriously...

@Laszlo: Are you serious? It has nothing to do with knowing or not knowing your gear. Using a controller this function is very important for me and for a lot of other djs out there. Please don't undermine this with your counterproductive opinion. Thank you.

Knowing gear has nothing to do with making a mistake like this. The buttons to load to each deck are directly next to each other, and it is very easy to make a mistake that should be unavoidable via a software update.

It will be included in a future update.

And for the record, I've been DJing for many years and have hit the eject button on a live CD before, so knowing gear is one thing, being in the heat of the moment and pressing the wrong button still happens.
