Sorry for re-posting the question about the KEY notation, I didn't see the previous post from "pnut" before posting mine.

Hi!
< KEY >
The KEY field on the left side of the screen is showing other KEY information, than in RekordBox. To reproduce this, write a manually typed key in the KEY field, for example 1A. It will then show Abm.
I understand that the RX unit is showing the regular KEY scale, but I would prefer that it show the KEY field from RekordBox. Or at least that we have an option on what we would like to use. When you using the BROWSE or INFO funktion, it shows the value from RekordBox.
<Recording Format>
Not so important, but do Pulse or anybody else know if there will be an option to record in MP3 or FLAC in the future?
<10.000 files>
The manual says that the unit support a maximum of 10.000 files. I have tried a USB stick with around 12.000 files, without any noticeable problem. What will happen if you use a USB stick with more than 10.000 files?
Rekordbox 3.2
XDJ-RX v1.00
Regard,
Alex

1) Addressed in the other thread.
2) MP3 recording requires on-the-fly compression which is not likely to be implemented, plus WAV is an uncompressed recording meaning higher quality, so no.
3) That's a rekordbox database of 10,000 files. If you have more than 10,000 files simply on the drive, it will still work, but will certainly be slow.
When you say addressed, does that mean it's not applicable yet (to show Camelot notation), if not is this going to be a feature request for next update? From the image Id rather see 10A than say Cm as per image
Pulse,
Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions.
1) I feel that it’s a bit of inconsistency in Pioneer answer, either they support the KEY field in RekordBox or not. Now they support it in some places in the unit but not all. So please ask them if it would be possible to make the KEY notation support the KEY field on all places.
2) Yes I know that WAV is higher quality than MP3, there’s no argument about that. It would just be nice to have that as an option. But no big deal for me
Regards,
Alex
Pioneer is working to include a wider support for different key notations in future, and it will be consistent across products.
There won't be MP3 encoding for the recording, sorry.
Pulse,
Could you tell me why the Camelot notation spears on the CDJ 2000 nexus screen but not on the XDJ?
I sent you 2 images previously to show you what I mean
Many thanks
As mentioned in another thread - you could put ANYTHING you want in that field (eg. a "Q") and it will display.
How do you do that then as ive tried everything? All my id3 tags have the Camelot notatation as they are in Rekordbox but on the display it still shows standard notation.
Patience. ;)
That doesn't answer my question haha
Pnut:
Could you check if you have the Camelot value visible in the BROWSE and INFO mode as me (I know you don't have it on the main screen), thanks! My English is not as good as yours, so I'm sorry for my poor explanation. But if you have the same situation as I have, that's what I'm talking about when I say its an inconsistency in how Pioneer uses the KEY filed value.
Puls:
Thanks for you answer, we just have to wait an see then....

Yes I have Camelot in my browse & info just not on display. Look at my images, it is a bit inconsistent because a friend of mine has the nexus set up and I have the rx. 1st pick is my RX not showing the Camelot key, and the 2nd pic is my friends nexus clearly showing 9A
Rekordbox is not saving any of my settings to my USB either, getting frustrated now
pnut: Another thing you probably wont like is... if you browse to the top level on you USB stick from the RX (you know where you can search and more) and pick KEY, you will only see the "original" Key notation and not the KEY field from RekordBox that we both would like to see.
B.tw. You will not find this "error" on the CDJ 2000/Nexus its only on the RX.

Yes ive noticed this aswell, hopefully on next software update they will change this, but for time being only way ive figured it out is to manualLy edit the track name in Rekordbox and put the Camelot key before the track name, then when u select 'track' from RX display they will all be in key order. Also My settings don't save on USB either, ive set it so its at 6% tempo etc and it still starts up on 10% , to see if it was just that I selected sync to be on to and when I put USB in the slot the sync wasn't on
Pulse: when you talk to the engineer at Pioneer about the KEY field, could you please ask them if it would be possible to add that information in the lower left/right info boxes also? so that when you browse for a new song, you see the current KEY. Thanks!
@Alex > You can add that as a second sort-field yourself using rekordbox (if you don't already have it enabled on your USB device).
Bloody confused now as mine is set up like that and still no key display
@Pulse> I already have the KEY sort enabled, and I'm using it with any problem on the 2000 nexus. What I'm try to suggest is to use the Key field in the lower left and right info boxes, so that when you browse for a new song you see the current one also. Please see the attached picture where i have marked two places (A & B) where that information might fit.
If you can see the KEY information in that box by enabling it in R.B., please make a step-by-step instruction on how you make that happen, because pnut and I can't see it. thanks!
