problem playing thru Lan connection on macbook proc

Hi all .

just got one of these - ( prev ddj-sx/serato )   I'm  having trouble trying to play over a  Lan connection.

I've followed the very brief instructions in the manual. got the link button to activate . but when i drag a track onto the deck tab in record box the xdj jog wheel flashes to indicate something is loaded  but nothing will play or appear in recordbox  on the xdj-rx display screen.

i have set the network sharing settings as advised.

pls help its driving me mad.

Also i can  use  a fat formatted external hard drive via usb 1 - i have anaylized all my tracks and made a playlist  in recordbox on laptop but i still cant see anything in the record box mode on the xdj 

what am I doing wrong.......i can only access the playlist via the usb 1 button   - so just like an explorer tree ?

i want to be able to use record box to see if i like it !!!!!!

pls help or i'm going back to the ddj-sx.........
