Join the club Glenn, mine does this also. Almost sounds like any pitch change with MT turned on is stuttering and transforming the sound.

SeguirXDJ-R1 Master Tempo sound quality bug
Hi
I have recently boguth a XDJ-R1, and am generally pleased with it. However every time I adjust the Tempo of a song, the audio quality goes bad. The worst is on softer parts of the track. It sounds a bit like the Kbps rate is too low, and the TRANS effects is mildly (Very mildly) on. And I don't change the tempo much. Usually from 130 to 128 BPM. Or from 125/126 to 128 BPM.
If I turn off Master Tempo it sounds fine.
I am using mostly 256Kbps AAC files bought from iTunes Store and some MP3's at the same kbps rate.
I am using the latest firmware (1.10)

Do I get a T-shirt? :-D
Joke aside, glad to hear I am not the only one experiencing the problem.
I'll see if the engineers have anything to say about this issue.
We recognize that the Master Tempo on the R1 is not on par with the CDJ series devices. It has been optimized for the R1's hardware to the best of its ability and unfortunately there is little room for improvement. The artifacts are more noticeable in certain styles of music than others, so our suggestion for avoiding the artifacting in the audio would be to either disable the Master Tempo or use a lower pitch range where possible.
Okay, I understand the technical complications, but can't any improvement be made in a future software update? As even bumping a track up 2 BPM with the tempo master on is noticeable.
Hi Pulse - i know that you dont work for Pioneer, but do you agree that a product that costs almost £900 should have a feature as widely used as the Master Tempo of lower quality then the CDJ standard? I mean even the very old CDJ100s never had this problem, Im sure other will agree with me on this subject.
I feel its just another item added to the list of faults with R1. As a Pioneer man through and through, i feel completely let down by this product and we will be seeking to return mine to my dealer. As i fear that with even a replacement unit it will fail again on me, making me look silly every time something happens while using the unit for a gig.
This one is still open after 11 months since the last comment. The master tempo still sounds horrible in version 1.12. Even with just small adjustments. Any chance of getting a fix for this? The solution to keep the pitch to a minimum doesn't work well as that owns part of a dj set, to actually alter the tempo of a song to make it match.
