Aero user, just bought R1.

Hi all, used a friends Aero a few times and just got my own R1, but having a few issues thus far.

  1. Auto cue on or off, the R1 will still play through my lists, and the jog scrubbing the jog wheel back to the beginning of a track will load the previous one. This is highly annoying.

  2. Where is the load lock setting? I find this really useful on CDJs and the Aero. It's saved me many a time.

Thanks!

@Joe > The SINGLE PLAY option is set within rekordbox, change that within your preferences.

As for load-lock, I don't believe there is a function for that on the R1, sorry.

I set the single play option under the CDJ tab of the RekordBox preferences, but that does not seem to be doing anything :/. Single play and load lock would be a seriously glaring omission on this unit. Bit disappointed.

Have you made sure that the database type for the device you're exporting to is set as an XDJ-R1? You can't use the same database type as a CDJ or AERO.

Once you've made the change to your preferences, you must export a track back to the device for it to change / update the settings.

I assume you mean the settings under the CDJ tab in preferences? I've set that and my device's settings tab reflects those changes. Are those settings not just for CDJs? My drive was originally CDJ formatted but I updated it for R1. Do you think if I start from scratch on a new drive it will work? Continuous play is doing my head in.

You can try with a new drive - as your library should be the same between rekordbox and your export device, there's no harm in formatting the export device and trying again with the library type setting as R1.

Nothing. Tried a new USB key and its still doing continuous play. I am not entirely convinced the CDJ settings apply to the R1 :(. Any other R1 users out there with this issue?

Yeah. Everything else works fine apart from the lack of single play. It's odd that the XDJ Aero behaves exactly how you'd expect (Single play, load lock etc) and similar to how the Nexus CDJs would work.

I've tried with auto cue on and off. With auto cue off it just immediately plays the next record. With auto cue on at least when the song is over the music stops :/

Okay, so with a track marked as SINGLE play mode (in rekordbox) and the auto-cue on, does it not stop when it's supposed to (end of track) but if you scratch the start of the track it doesn't try and load the previous one? Because that's what it's supposed to do.

Where does one mark a track as single in Rekordbox? I really don't see why any Rekordbox compatible device wouldn't just follow the settings in my settings in RB. It would make way more sense for basic features like this to just be consistent across devices. Especially if someone is trying to learn how to DJ on the R1 to play on CDJs.

Then it's not right at all :/ It seems the Aero will respect this setting, but not the XDJ R1 :( Is there a bug report form for engineering?

Any updates? This makes scratching in records totally impossible. Only thing one could do is insert a blank space of a few seconds at the beginning of each track, but thats just stupid.
