Djm 900 + cdj 2000 + traktor...

Hi!

I have been searching but didnt find what i was looking for.

I just downloaded the demo version of traktor to try it and see if i like it or not. my 2 cdj 2000s and 900 mixer is conected to a dlink lan switch.

The cdjs are connected to the 900 trough rca.

The 900 mixer is connected to the computer via usb.

Traktor find the mixer but not the players, do i need to connect the players to traktor trough usb even if they are connected to the mixer with lan cables?

Thanks!

@Christoffer > Yes, you need to connect the CDJs via USB as well; the LINK is only used for player-to-player linking or Rekordbox linking.

Thank you!

Then I think I skip that...

If I buy the uppgrade kit and use the timecoded vinyls witch my sl1210 is it just to connect the sl1210 turntables to the mixer with rca and then the mixer to the computer?

@Christoffer Földes > You will only need to buy the timecode vinyls and and a registered version of Traktor Scratch 2. Then you can connect them via RCA to your DJM-900, and use those 2 channels with the built in sound card on the DJM-900 (USB source on channel selection) to control your vinyl in Traktor. Yes your DJM-900 will have to be connected via USB to your computer in order for this to work.

You can also assign your CDJ's to use the timecode inputs on the DJM-900, or you can use them with HID via USB connection to your computer. Or just stick with Rekordbox on your 2000's. ;)

I hope I answered everything.

Hey guys. Just saw this thread and wanted to know if it's possible to use the 900 nexus as the main sound card in traktor then use the cd 2000/ 900 as controllers? If so. What is the set up procedure?

@KiKo > You will need to connect the three pieces of equipment to your laptop via USB. What are you trying to do with your setup?

@Gavin: I 'm trying to have a setup where I control channels A & B of Traktor via HID, and channels C & D via MIDI out to the 4 channels of the DJM-900. In this case Channel A of Traktor would be on channel 1 of the DJM, B on 2, C on 3 and D on 4. Is it possible to achieve this by using the DJM-900 as the main soundcard or do I have to connect the players and DJM via USB cables?

@ILLICH > You can output all 4 channels from Traktor to the DJM and control the software via HID on the CDJs and other MIDI controllers, you would just need to configure the software for HID control and then add the MIDI controls manually to the mapping afterward. The audio output will be configured in the settings quite easily.

Thank you Pulse!

So does this mean that I would have to aggregate the soundcards of the 2 cdj's AND the DJM into one that would then be used by Traktor?

No, you don't need to aggregate anything - the DJM has enough audio in/out to accommodate the software, you just need to control the A & B decks with CDJs, and the C & D with MIDI, so no audio is going through those devices - only HID and MIDI.

And will a powered USB hub work to integrate the 3 USB cables for all of it (the 2 CDJ's and the DJM)?
