Biting my tongue and shaking head. Come on, Pioneer!
Why are you doing either of those things? The XDJ-RX is not designed or marketed as a Serato device.
Sorry for the delay, Pulse. Never said it was. Just wonder why a company would put out a product like this. It doesn't work well with others or it's own (Rekordbox has flaws!). It's a fun mixing machine, but it's nowhere near perfect. I feel Pioneer turns a blind eye to the mobile market. I'd love to help them if they truly care, but it appears they don't. So much for biting my tongue, eh? BTW...thinking of picking up the DJM-S9 and using tables with Serato again! I think they hit the nail on the head with that one at least. We'll see. Still waiting for a solid, easy, fully functional standalone controller.
@Pulse, Does the RX work with Serato DJ right now as the RX is updated to support HID and full MIDI functioning in the latest version of XDJ - RX V.2.1,0. So is there any possibility that we could use a Serato compatible Sound-card and use RX using Serato DJ?
@Rahul > As stated above, no; the XDJ-RX is NOT Serato-compatible, nor will it ever be Serato compatible. It is NOT a Serato DJ controller. Even if you could use it for MIDI, you would have no control over the jog (pitch bend, seek, scratch).
So you're telling us that pioneer made a very expensive dj mixer that won't allow the dj's that purchased it to have any flexibility in regards to hooking it up to a computer? What planet are you living on? Dj's like Serato, Tractor, VDJ, etc... Everyone knows that. And maybe we want to see on screen and be able to search for our tracks easier because the XDJ sucks for finding tracks. But instead, Pioneer decided for us that we want recordbox..... and refuses to even address our concerns. I had already made my decision before when the XDJ started freezing on perfectly solid purchased MP3's AND .aiff files in the middle of sets that this will be my last pioneer purchase. Also, pioneers lack of caring about their customers has left a bad taste in my mouth. It's called good business sense... and you don't have it.
You do know the XDJ-RX was originally designed as a stand-alone product, correct? The fact it has MIDI and can link to rekordbox were additional features, but not the primary function of the product. That meant when the RX was originally released, it worked as:
- a stand-alone player
- an audio mixer for external sources
- a player for rekordbox tracks
- a controller for any MIDI-compatible software
Want to find your tracks easier? Link to rekordbox, search the track on your computer, load it to the player.
If you have a problem with tracks freezing, the problem is likely with your tracks or USB drive. And as much as you don't want to hear me say that, I've dealt with far more RX's than you likely have, and I'm basing my answer on that experience.
I don't think I'll take any business advice from someone who doesn't understand the product, sorry.
