Can't we get a yes or no answer from Pioneer if the XDJ-RX will be supported to work with Virtual DJ or Serato DJ complete?. We all know the the unit is a stand alone, but a one way street like in Virtual DJ does not make sense.
The XDJ-RX will NEVER work with Serato, it was not designed, marketed or sold as a Serato DJ compatible controller. It can, however, work with Virtual DJ as a MIDI controller, but there is no bi-directional MIDI control, so you won't get data to the screens or be able to illuminate the LEDs for the buttons.

I think the better question is: Will it ever work with Pioneer Rekordbox DJ?
I'm pretty sure everyone would agree that making the RX also a midi controller is kinda silly if it does not have LED support....... or does it...?!?! but its just "locked" and will one day only work with Rekordbox DJ?? that would be cool and smart for pioneer.
Will the XDJ-RX ever work with Rekordbox DJ is a very smart question, especially since the unit is not totally a stand alone unit, with midi a part of the hardware. The user will have choices of how to play, stand alone or with a computer. The controller cost me $1499 US dollars.
