BSOD in Windows 10 caused by 900nexusAudio64.sys

I'm using the DJM 900 Nexus as my audio interface for Traktor 2 2.9. The problem is occurred after I update my OS from Windows 7 to 10.
Full name of the problem that appears on the BSODs screen is: driver_irql_not_less_or_equal (DJM 900nexusAudio64.sys)
Anybody know how to solve this?
Some more information:
OS: Windows 10 x64bit
Intel i7, 8Gb RAM
Traktor ver.2.9 32bit.

Hello all,

Thank you very much for your feedback to the beta version drivers of DJM-900NXS, DJM-900NXS2, DJM-850 and DJM-750.

New 64-bit drivers for DJM-900NXS, DJM-850 and DJM-750 are planned to be released on Aug. 30 and Sept. 6.
However, the changes made in those drivers are only the 64-bit support. The issues of BSOD on Windows 10 discussed in this thread will not be included in the official version. This means if you update your drivers to the official version, you will have the BSOD issues again.
We recommend you to continuously use the beta version posted here until the official version with the BSOD fix is ready.

The official version with the BSOD fix is planned to be released before too long.

Thank you very much for your kind patience until the official version is ready.

Best regards,

CRM, Pioneer DJ

@Intense > Unfortunately Pioneer drivers and software are not yet officially supported on Windows 10 and we cannot guarantee their performance or function. Have you tried removing the DJM drivers?

Yes... I've removed the DJM drivers and installed it again and nothing happens. I'm still becoming BSOD :/

And without the drivers installed, are you still having the BSOD?

As noted, the drivers aren't certified for Win10, so if you're having problems with them, the best solution may be to not install them for the time being.

I've just removed DJM drivers and connected my Nexus through the Traktor sound card and it worked perfectly. :)
As you said - the problem causes DJM driver (I thought it might be Windows).
Do you know when the official Windows 10 drivers come out?

I am having the same issue.

Music plays for anywhere between 20 - 45 mins then the computer blue screens with the error: DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (DJM900nexusAudio64.sys)

I am running a Lenovo yoga 11s with windows 10 64bit i7 8gb ram 256gb ssd.

I went to the Microsoft store (many many times) and they went through my machine trying to see if there is a work around. I only have one more trick to try.

Under performance options >Advanced>virtual memory> the automatically manage paging tab at the top was turned off and the values were set rather low. So we turned it back on however I have not had the time to test it yet. I will get on it later this afternoon and let you know if it worked.

Not sure if that helps with your particular problem.

@pioneer I saw your post. @random guy that posted. The solution above seems to have fixed the problem. I played for an hour and had zero issue. I will be playing this weekend for an extended period and will update if something goes wrong.

I have the same problem.
Actually my computer has crashed with both the DJM850 and the DJM900.
My pagefile is set to auto. I have experienced one crash per gig - and only when the DJM is connected.
I can see on the PDF @Pulse links to that the verification is complete on the 900 and not the 850.
I think you need to go back with that verification. It seems that something is still wrong.
The PC is Fresh Windows 10 64bit.

Here's a log for both mixers.

Do you have a microsoft store in your area? Usually at the mall. They can look into the log and tell you exatcly what is causing the crash. When I installed windows 10 from 8.1 it was a a dirty install and I used the microsoft recommended installer so it may be an issue with the install itself. Are you have issues with anything else on your machine?

Also based on the log it looks like both drivers crashed to cause the same issue so Im thinking its something in the machine. I assume the drivers are the most updated ones right? According to the Pioneer link above they have completed testing on the drivers and they check out. I havent had an issue since I changed my settings and Ive played many house since.

I don't have a Microsoft store in my area.
The drivers are of course the most updated.
The install is clean - the machine is clean. Only DJ
Based on the logs it is quite correct, it crashes because IRQ adressing fails. The reason they look the same is that i suspect the 850 and 900 to be quite similar when it comes to the inboard soundcard thus using (almost) the same drivers.
This is a Pioneer Driver Issue. You got the same IRQ fail and OP @DJ Intense get's the same error.
A quick google reveals that we are not the only guys out there.

For reference Intel based graphic chipsets had the same fault - until Intel them selve fixed their drivers so they work.

As a note - i use Traktor in 32bit. The machine is 64bit. I use 32bit because Pioneer has failed to release 64bit drivers for DJM900 and 850.

If i use other hardware the machine is rock-stable.

I totally agree that it is a Pioneer issue. I just know your on your own and are going to have to find a work around on your end before they get off their ass to fix their drivers. we all have to use 32 bit traktor in order to use the 900 as a soundcard so I fell your pain.

Work around for now is reintroduction of my good ol' Audio 10 and X1 since i can't use the 900/850 for midi without initializing the unstable drivers in Windows.

@Pulse Nothing new? I'm worried that the document says driver Driver software Verification completed Please use the latest driver software posted on the support site. When faults are posted here?

You have an issue on your machine, I haven't ran into any issues with the current drivers after I fixed my machine via the posts above. I suggest finding a windows store and taking the trip because they will make your machine run like new.

@Keiko - you hit the wrong segment. Your new drivers from today is OSX. Not Win10
@Chris Wunder Yes i have an issue with my machine. And the issue is with the Pioneer 32bit driver for the DJM900 and 850. Your trip to the windows store may have worked - who knows if you are safe or just lucky so far? What you did was avoiding to go over 60mph in a car that has a fault over 60mph. You didnt' repair it. That's not a fix, thats a workaround.

Hello all,

Thank you very much for reporting this issue.
DJM engineers have reproduced the BSOD issue on our end.
We are sorry for not identifying this issue in the Windows 10 verification process because it rarely occurs. Engineers are now working hard to investigate this issue to sort out this problem.
Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you very much for your patience until the fix is ready.

Hello all,

Engineers found in the investigation that there is a high possibility that Windows update to the latest module will solve this issue. Will you please try updating Windows to see if your issues are sorted out?

Thank you very much for your kind cooperation in advance.

@Kenji Law : You use Traktor 64 bit. The DJM900 driver is 32bit. Follow the guide from Native:
https://www.native-instruments.com/en/support/knowledge-base/show/4200/how-to-launch-traktor-in-32-bit-mode-on-windows/
Please don't post in topics not related to your issue.

@Keiko : I don't have a DJM900 for personal use. Can you post some more technical info why the update should solve the issue? I'm not keen on being a test bunny in work enviroment. A BSOD mid-set is a huge issue.

Hello Zster and all,

Engineers replied to your question.

・ The BSOD issue was successfully replicated on our end right after the issue was reported.
・ However, we have not been able to replicate the same issue on a PC where Windows Update was applied and where newly upgraded to Windows10, both of which are in the latest version of Windows 10. This is why we cannot sort out the problem on our end.

This is why we assume you could solve the BSOD issue by making Windows to the latest status.
If you cannot solve your problem even after updating Windows, please let us know the details of your problem, which will be a great help for us to sort out this issue.

Thank you very much for your kind cooperation in advance.

Best regards,

CRM, Pioneer DJ

Had the chance to test this Saturday as i played Vinyl but on a DJM900 mixer. The computer was connected to the Mixer, with Traktor open, but not used for 6 hours with no BSOD. I have also experienced BSOD when i have rigged my gear but not used it yet so therefore i conclude that this test was succesful

I think i'll have a go the next time i'll play with traktor and use the DJM900 as sound card. Fingers crossed ;)

The problem came back for me. I had made the adjustments posted above and that seemed to solve the issue completely. I played out, in, all around, ton of hours and not a single issue.

I then had a different issue with google chrome where my pages would freeze and die which was strange because the computer would show no signs of stress, this problem only existed in chrome, all other browsers worked fine. So I took my laptop back to the windows store and they did find some faults in the os after 3 days of testing. They returned it to me with chrome working as intended but left it with something else entirely which has brought back the sudden crashing.

I now have random spikes from explorer and while it does not crash it totally freezes up and uses any and all available cpu.

When I plug in and play using 900 nexus, Kontrol F1, & Kontrol X1 i get about20 minutes in and I notice the load bar in traktor slowly starts to climb up and up and up till finially the computer blue screens. here are some pics I snapped which is pointing to the driver for the 900. I however dont believe it has anything to do with the driver and has something to do with windows. I just cant figure it out.

@Chris > Next time, could you please grab screenshots of the task manager or process monitor sorted by CPU and/or Memory? After a crash, you may also be able to find crash logs, details are available here.
