XDJ-R1 only channel 2 is outputting

Sound output only through channel 2. To ensure sound comes out of Channel 1, Channel 2 needs to be up.  Okay when in PC mode so thinking it is the controller. Master level indicator doesn't light up when only channel 1 is playing. Cross fader switch is set to thru, and there's no trimming via knobs for Chanel 1 either
