Exporting tracks to a new computer

I followed the video from pulse about transferring my music collection to a new macbook laptop, step by step and used 'Command A' to select all of the songs at once, but 0 songs were loaded.   I have spent hours trying to get this too work!   Why isn't it working?  

What part of the transfer failed? The export or the import?
