The unit will not display the bar count if there is no further cuepoint set, because the barcount counts down to the next cue.
So: no cuepoint -> no downcounting

This is correct, and the feature was derived from a request on the Nexus product line a couple of years ago to count down to the next cue point. Hot Cues and end of track are not included in this count. I forget the discussion back in the day about not including track end, but it made sense at the time, and as something related to track end is not necessarily the last beat or measure (leadout vs. track end).

I use cue points all the time but the unit still doesnt show bar counts, it just shows three dashes where the numbers should be.
