CDJ 2000 NXS2 ( EMERGENCY LOOP/NO LINK TO REKORDBOX )

My nxs2's do not work , at random time they just go into emergency loop for no reason at all. They will not link to my windows computer anymore and sometimes the hot cues just disappear and pressing the cue buttons have no effect on the track playing, I also have one nxs 1 connected and it also does not connect to rekordbox anymore.

The main reason for a player entering an emergency loop is that it did not receive the expected data stream for the song it was playing. If the source is connected to the USB port, then it could be a faulty USB port, low-performance USB drive, or corrupt file. If the error occurs when the player is linked and the source is another player, then the issue could be the ethernet jack on either device, the network cable, if used - the network switch / router, or the same USB items per above. If linked to rekordbox, the issue could be a firewall, network sharing application blocking traffic, antivirus / antimalware software, or a virus or malware infection.

Hi,

Unfortunatelly, I have the same issue on my XDJ 1000 :(

"Emergency loop" occured using only one USB stick (Scan Disk) and Pro DJ Link without any LAN switch.

And for sure, I didn't remove my USB stick or my network cable (RJ45).

This issue occured only once...

Firmware is up to date: v1.05

It seems that this issue occured for XDJ-RX and has already been fixed but only for this player :(

Ver.1.70 (8 October, 2015 Update)
 A playlist can now hold up to 10,000 tracks.
 Fixed an issue where loading tracks became unavailable when the
E-8306 error message appeared on XDJ-RX.
 Fixed an issue where a wrong audio was output when loading a
track with a hot cue set at its beginning.
Fixed a rare issue where unexpected EMERGENCY LOOP
started when loading a track stored in a USB device.

this happened to some specific tracks on my NXS2, i reanalyzed the track in rekordbox and then it played fine

not a fix but at least a workaround on mine until pioneer figures out what is going on

Since the first post I have updated to 4.1.2 there is no issues with the link anymore. BUT the EMERGENCY LOOP problem persist. It happens with the USB it happens with the link to Rekordbox it happens with the SD card but all the files play flawlessly on the Nexsus 1. I have tried Re-analyzing ,Turning down my speaker using different USB sticks still EMERGENCY LOOP !!!!

Emergency Loop is a sort of automatic workaround not to stop tracks playing during a gig when some critical problems occur.

Engineers would like to know exactly what triggered emergency loop.
What did you do just before emergency loop began?
What kind of file were you playing?
What buttons, knobs or jog wheels did you touch?

If you can replicate this problem at will, that kind of information would be a great help for engineers to find the root cause of this issue.

Please include as much detail as possible.  Thank you.

I have 2x XDJ700 and the emergency loop happens every time I play, about 15-20min in.

It happens with all sorts of files (mp3, aiff,..).

It happens only when I've just clicked on the jog to load a new track on the other xdj that is not playing.

The only point in common that I can find is that I'm loading my tracks from a playlist of about 500 tracks.

Is there a solution for this?

@David > It sounds most likely that you have a low quality USB drive incapable of providing decent multi-stream read access. Please consider upgrading your USB drive.

@pioneer Thanks for the answer. I have a Samsung 64GB usb stick with a 200mb read spead. I thought that was a good enough drive

could you recommend a list of usb drives that work better with the xdj700?

Also this issue never happened on my friend’s xdj1000 that we regularly use. How come?

thanks

Hi @Pulse ! thanks for getting back to us.

Was having the emergency loop issue. I deleted all tags from the AIFF files on Jriver Media center then re analyzed and sync to usb using rekordbox and that fixed the issue.

They play fine now on my XDJ 700. So for anyone having this issue on a specific playlist this could be what was causing the issues

Hey Faud,

Yeah, because AIFF doesn't have as strict a metadata standard as some other filetypes do, that could certainly be it. I'm glad you were able to get that sorted.
