I just picked a PLX-500K yesterday, I also own 2 PLX-1000's and I've been putting it through some tests to compare the two.
I'm having an issue recording into rekordbox 4.2.2. The problem is with the recorded wav file. There are several stutters through the recording, the problem is not with the vinyl, the playback is perfect. I attempted to re-record the track in rekordbox several times and each time there were 3 or more glitches in the recording.
Thinking that recordbox was the problem, I tried recording into Ableton live. I listened to the recording very carefully and there was one small stutter, but the overall recording was better.
Is anyone else having this problem? Im suspecting a problem with the built in usb interface.
I record vinyl into Ableton all the time using an external interface and never have this issue.
So far I'm on the fence about how I feel about this turntable. Im trying to decide if I want to get a second one. I spent some time mixing with it and it feels similar to the PLX-1000, and much better than some other turntables Ive played on. The tone arm feels cheap and the overall appearance and quality is not as nice as the PLX-1000.

Sometimes that can happen when the system is not able to stream the data to the hard drive in a continuous manner. Have you verified that you have disabled all background antivirus / malware scanners and that your indexing is disabled on the hard drive you're recording to? Also, you may want to try increasing the buffer size on the PLX interface.

I solved the recording problem. It took some paitence.
I had the turntable USB connected to a 4 port USB3 PCIE card. I plugged the turntable into one of the USB ports on the motherboard and the recording is now perfect in both Ableton and Rekordbox.

Hi guys iknow may not be right place but plx500 the tone arm height adjuster.. the locking mechanism does that work on your turntable ? Its seems whether u have on lock or unlock the height adjuster still rotates

@Billy > I've heard back from the product team, they say that the PLX-500 height-lock is slightly different in design from the PLX-1000, and may not lock as tight, but to ensure it's fully locked, they recommend pushing the lock switch as far as it will go.
