Issue with Rekordbox and XDJ 700

For the first time tonight I tried to use Rekordbox in conjunction with my XDJ 700s. I'm using a Macbook Pro with the latest version of Rekordbox. The sound is fine from one of the decks, but on the other deck the sound is severely distorted.

Any idea what could cause this?

Cheers.

Do you use Rekordbox in the "Export Mode" or the "Rekordbox DJ Plus Pack"?

Have you checkt the Cabels?

I'm using in Performance mode with the 30 day trial. I've tried different usb cables as well and it's the same outcome. The deck that has a problem gets slightly better when the buffering sample slider is put to the max amount of samples, but it still sounds bad.

Have you created an aggregate device for both of the XDJs, and have you verified that the configuration is the same for each?

I downloaded the aggregator and opened it but that was it. It flashed up that I had created an aggregated device for two XDJs. Do I need to do anything more than that?

Yeah - you should go and check that both devices are set to the same sample / bit rate and clock sync on that aggregate in the Audio MIDI Setup application. Next, assign the aggregate as your audio device in rekordbox.

Excuse my ignorance but where is the audio midi setup application?

Checked that and both are the same. What should the aggregate show as in the audio menu?

Whatever you've named it! It may default to "Pioneer CDJ/XDJ Aggregate," but you can change that in the Audio MIDI Setup.

On the aggregate now and the output channels are showing as Aggregate Device : CH1 which seems fine but the other is showing as aggregate device: Sampler Vol and still has severe distortion.

Can you go and delete both of those aggregate devices (click the item, then the - icon at the bottom of the window), then create a new aggregate using the two XDJs, it seems the one with the "sampler volume" is wrong; best to rebuild them.

Done that. Created the aggregate device and it is exactly the same.

It still lists "sampler volume" even though both devices are XDJ-700's?

Those buttons look awfully glossy... which version of OS X are you running?

Yeah.

I'm still on 10.9.5. Been on that because it's the most stable for when i run Maschine as well. Could this be an issue I take it?

Here's my config, working fine in 10.10 (Yosemite):

Nah, should be okay on 10.9, just wanted to make sure it wasn't 10.8 or something earlier.

Ah right. The thing is, there's a buzzing noise from one deck every time I open Rekordbox. But the decks are fine when I use them via the link with a USB.

Wait, what? Do you have them connected via USB and ethernet at the same time? Disconnect the ethernet cables - you should only have one or the other, not both... but I don't believe that's the source of the issue.

Do you have any other USB devices connected?

I don't have them connected at the same time. Was just pointing out that they work fine with no buzzing etc when I use them with the Ethernet. And I've only got 2 USB slots, so it's only the XDJs that are plugged in. Cheers for the help by the way, it's frustrating.

Still no further forward with this if there are any other avenues I can go down to solve this? Really want to have Rekordbox functional with the XDJs.

Cheers

It's possible you have a ground loop or faulty power supply causing the issue when the USBs are connected. Can you narrow it down to one unit or possibly change where things are plugged-in?

Tried with a different 4 way power socket there and tried both units on their own, in both usb ports, and they worked while on their own. As soon as two are plugged in, one becomes Sampler Vol in the output channels no matter what I've tried.
