DJM-S11 not detected by Macbook Pro

Just purchased a DJM S11 mixer. I had the drivers previously installed on my 2021 Macbook Pro (Apple M1 Pro, 16gb, Ventura 13.5.1) because I've used a friend's S11 before for a gig.

When I turn on my S11 it lights up as if it is booting up but the LED screen does not come on and after a few seconds all of the lights go back off. I opened the s11 utility on the computer and it says there is no mixer connected. Tried uninstalling the drivers and restarting the mixer in firmware update mode. When I hold down the Back + Parameter 1 Left button and push start for 3-5 seconds, only the Parameter 1 Left button flashes. The SMooth Echo button does not flash. I opened the firmware update anyway and it says there is no mixer connected. 

I tried doing all these steps multiple times and get the same outcome each time. Please help.
