ddj flx-10 stutter cue

I have cdj's that I've used for ever, and want to use them with ddj-flx10 as decks 1 and 4. I'm used to the stutter cue on the cdj and find it useful however, even though the flx-10 manual says to hold shift and pause to get the stutter cue to work I'm not having any success. Anyone solve this?
