xdj rx virtual dj

This is a FW BUG in 2.10 which many User report since 5 Month !

Pioneer do not agree this and declare that it is a result from HID support for Rekordbox.... But that is not true. 

I have the same problem with Traktor and external Mixing Mode.....

I just receive my record box key licence! The same in pioneer program!

I think pioneer have to fix this!

Pulse, my settings are Deck 1--> Pionner xdj rx (Asio) chan 1&2  and

                                  Deck 2--> Pionner xdj rx (Asio) chan 3&4

I don't think that this is problem.. Also i have exactly the same issue in your programm!Record box! I just receive my licence key (and thank you for that) and i tried to play and to work and see behaviour of record box and there was the same issue! No leds in xdj rx mode. Also no lights in decks! Why that? I can't understand! I already have a conversation in inquiry with another pioneer member..

No, see, that's not correct -- outputs 1&2 are for MASTER and outputs 3&4 are for headphones. If you were to use VDJ as configured above, you would never have deck 2 output to master, and you'd never hear deck 1 in the headphones!

i think you do not / will not understand the Problem ! 

There are only two Pio controller with this different Mixing Modes feature. XDJ-RX and DDJ-RZ

WE do not want to mix IN the Software !

The RX got 2 Modes --> MIDI MIXER & Hardware / RX Mixer. If we use the Hardware Mixer the Audio interface will work as Ch 1/2 + 3/4.  It is like an external Audio Interface which is connected by cable.  In this RX Mixer Mode ALL LED should work like a normal Mixer !!  CUE / VU Meter / FX LED ...  There is no need for LED Software control. 

Only the Decks are MIDI !

Only in MIDI Mixer MODE all LED / Buttons are working with the Software. But we do not spend 1500 € for a MIDI Mixer. We want Hardware Mixing. Also the external IN's do not work in MIDI Mode !!!!  So useless to connect a Smartphone.

I am working as a freelancer for a German DJ Manufacturer and do all Traktor Mappings for the Serato Controllers. So i have many years of experience how a controller should work... ;) The RX is the best choice for Party / wedding DJ like me. So please fix this and we will be happy.

The Problem occurs since FW 2.10 (or2.08)  --> HID implementation for Rekordbox.

In June the German Support and Repair Center told me that this is a KNOWN !! Bug an Pio will fix this ASAP. I don't have to explain much. He knows it....  Since June we are waiting.

Long time ago my setup was virtual dj, an external audio sound card (U46 mk2 mixvibes), a simple controller (for control play, cue etc.) and a pioneer djm 400 mixer. This was exactly the setup i wanted. That's why I bought xdj rx.  A stand alone mixer! 

Even in your program record box I can't make it work in xdj rx mode. I work it only as a midi controller. But why do I buy a ''stand alone mixer'' instead of a simple controller to do my job???

The XDJ-RX was never really intended to be used as a controller, it was designed and marketed as a stand-alone player. It does feature MIDI control and an audio interface, but the internal soundcard was configured in such a way that the output would be to the MASTER and PHONES, not to each channel individually.

If you wanted a stand-alone mixer, why didn't you buy a stand-alone mixer, or just use the RX without a computer?

''it was designed and marketed as a stand-alone player''.. These are your words Pulse. Rx works fine as a controller for virtual. I repeat that i tried to play with virtual dj. And my setup is: xdj rx mode for mixer and midi for decks. Everything works fine exept the bpm counter. I have to tap bpm to get my right number. Ok lets say that the signal from midi isn't right because rx was designed to be a stand alone mixer and not midi controller.But is it so difficult for pioneer to fix the lights of rx of mixer when i 'm playing with another software?? I press effect button and i can't see if is it on or off.. Last saturday i was playing and i press effect button just to mix 2 tracks. I mixed them.. ok.. I forgot to press again effect button to close it so next time i try to mix the next track echo was there!! This will happen in gigs.. Is it so dufficult for pioneer to fix this bug????? Because it is a bug. I'm not expert but don't tell me that pioneer can't fix this issue. Rx is a Stand Alone Mixer. You said it. That;s why we bought it. We just ask to fix the flash of mixer's lights when decks are in midi function. So we can know if effect or color effects are on or off!

Ps. I wonder if pioneer team tried to play with your software (record box) with midi for decks and xdj rx mode for mixer.

I tried to show you that bpm counter doesn't take the right signal from deck and the other things i said. Light of effect and color effect doesn't flash, in xdj rx mode even if it is on.

Which firmware version are you using on the RX?

you can see it at the end of video! 2.10. Updating xdj rx's firmware was the first thing i did!

I didn't watch to the end of an 8+ minute video.

But u understand what I mean! Leds of cue in channels, sound color buttons and button of effect doesn't flash!

And bpm counter doesn't have the right signal of bpm!

Exactly the same thing in record box dj.

Also in record box dj, both channels of programm, you only can listen them in channel 1 of xdj rx.

I don't thing that I'm doing something wrong!

Anyway!Any ideas!Solution?

Great news! The 2.20 update fix this issue! Now leds, when mode is at xdj rx (not when in midi control) with virtual dj works fine. Hope with next updates fix the same for decks!

the newvFW is working great. Everything is oK exceopt the Volume of the sound colour FX. The NOISE it about 100% to loud !  So it is useless. Is there any Way to set up the Volume eg.  the "Parameter" in Software or at DJM nxs2 ?  Maybe in further FW in the Menue ?

My issue is the same with xdj rx mode before updating fw. For example i press vinyl button but light isn't on! But vinyl function works! Also the leds of hot cues etc. (All are working but no lights!)

there must be something wrong with you installation. In my case it is working great with RB Performance Mode.  The RX must be set to MIDI Mixing !!!  There is no External Mixing with XDJ - RX in RB possible !

Do you use MAC or WIN ?

I use windows! And I think (I m sure) that my installation is right!

Ok - that might be a Problem with HID Support in WIN. 

On MAC everything is working !

@Vasillis > I just verified this with an XDJ-RX running firmware 2.20 connected to Virtual DJ 8.2 b3523 on Windows 10, with driver version 1.210. The meters do work, the vinyl button does illuminate. The only issue I noticed is the SOUND COLOR FX button LEDs don't blink when one of the effects is selected, but that's not the end of the world.
