Tracks are marked as played even though they have not been played

When I play a track in performance mode, the track is marked as "played" (green) after a time that I have set (30 seconds). That's fine as far as that goes. But if I now load a track into a deck and listen to it in the headphones for 30 seconds and the channel fader is off, this track is also marked as "played". I find that very confusing and it shouldn't be that way. Is this a mistake or do I have to adjust something somewhere? I have an RX3 and current RB version 6.8.2 Macbook
